really? that's awkward. I kinda feel like it must be a typo? Why else would you make a double entendre in a song, where everyone is listening to the lyrics, but not reading them?

gurl both words make perfect sense idk why that would be a typo

I think she used to do that during The Fame days. Some of the songs had a double entendre as well. Lovegame and Poker Face, etc.

I immediately thought of that when I listened to A-Yo for the first time

When I read the caption the first time,i knew she's going to use it in one of her future songs :sis:

they really don't though?

"witch one i'll never tell"  is not a grammatical sentence.

i thought it was "you'll never tell" but nevertheless itd make sense this way:

a (witch) spell that you'll never discover (tell) = a spell, a witch one, that you'll never tell

I'm pretty sure that A-Yo wasn't written before 2016, since she was still working on the lyrics during the "Making Of Joanne" video

This!

"a witch one" is perfectly valid since "one" can be used as a replacement for "spell" so the word isn't used two times in a short period. Without it, the sentence would be "a witch spell", and "a witch spell" is any kind of spell which source is a witch, or a spell made by a witch. You searched "witch one" without the "a" so obviously itll be wrongly spelled

I also kind of see it as "Witch, one you'll never tell" as if she is a witch and nobody would ever realize that she's one.

Also reminds me of The Countess, in the sense that she would put spells on people :flop:

Kindness rules all.
