ryanripley 86,575
i won't lie to you, i'm a little scared to make this thread with you little monsters but a good majority can agree whilst the Million Reasons video is what we should have expected from a slow song, it does lack that essence of Gaga's visual magic i know plenty of you will think "yawn a thread on that video again, lets comment "i stopped reading at Million" for those likes " but hear me out a second because i'm interested to see what you guys think, cus i'm not here to trash the video or say who's fake or not from personal experience, i can go through phases of creative blocks where my mind just can't think of what to do in order to make what i want to say good, and i'm pretty sure that gaga experiences these days, weeks, possibly months so i'm questioning whether she's been experiencing a block recently a couple of things that make me question this are: - the fact it took the MR video so long to be released - comparing the MR video to her previous work - comparing the MR video to her live performances it just seems a little odd that these great performances with amazing visuals had the end result of a very... plain video i'm aware this era is stripped back but PI's video was very complimentary of the song, the energetic visuals go hand in hand with the song but i'm wondering if gaga and her team just said "you know what? lets just do plan C and get something out there and say it's personal" i'm not saying it's a bad thing if she is, it could be a result of her PTSD? i'm not that educated about it but i don't truly think gaga is being lazy what do you critics think? Spoiler who's gunna drag me for filth first? https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ

MarryTheKnight 2,181
I personally believe that the reason Gaga's work was so spectacular in the earlier years of her career was the impeccable team behind her. However, Dada (who was a genius and behind most of her iconic visuals) and BoomKack left and she is no longer working with fantastic directors such as Joseph Kahn (who she got in some creative feud with), Steven Klein, Francis Lawrence, Jonas Akerlund, etc I think having a strong team behind you is extremely important in putting out superb works. See: Lemonade (which was directed by Akerlund and had a huge team behind it) Letting go of SOME creative control is not a bad thing; Gaga can remain involved in her work and it will produce higher quality results. Now we have Gaga making music and videos with like 9 people in her garage

Jenina 15,072
I really don't think it's her being lazy because she has always been really passionate about what she does and puts so much effort into her work. I know it's a slow song and stuff but the video is like idk how to explain it it just feels like something is missing. I wasn't expecting something over the top but it missed something in my opinion. It could possibly influenced with wanting to honor her aunt and she doesn't want to "mess up" I guess, could be creative block, it could be a lot of things I just don't think it was lazy. cool
