What's it like getting worked up over a music video? I have a life, so I don't have experience with the whole "im over a pop star because they made something I don't like" mentality

I don't think people should jump ship I just think if you enjoyed past eras better why not just keep enjoying those. When you repeatedly speak negativity about the eras you dislike it seems like a waste of your time. Why spend so much time talking about what you dislike? People on here call themselves stans when they don't stan. They did in a past era and they have an idea of gaga in their head they Stan for but they seem pretty Anti what she is doing right now. And they're mad at gaga for not doing what they've been imagining

I don't get your point. So you can only be a stan if you lick Gaga's ass and eat everything? If she doesn't live up to our expectations, we are not stans?

While I agree that it's a waste of time to constantly open threads with hate - isn't it also a waste of time for the people who enjoy the era (or others who pretend to like it) to answer to those people or also open a thread for any negative one that pops up?

My problem, and I think that is also the one with a lot of people, is that Gaga took 3 years to release another album, an album which she began working on this year. In 2016.
If it was 2014 or early 2015 when Gaga released Joanne I'd be totally fine with it.

But that she took 3 years only to rush something few months prior the release date leaves it with a sour taste in my mouth. And now she is seemingly also rushing the videos. MR video is basically Apple commercial outtakes and PI music video outtakes, with some new shot footage. That's just pretty disappointing for someone who had such a good videography, and I'm not only talking about BR or Telephone. You & I was a great video, so was MTN or Poker Face, and eve TEOG is better than MR.

Girl explained what she meant by "true fans". You are allowed to not like everything she's ever done of course but have some fvcking respect to her as an artist and human being. Instead, some of you are acting like bunch of crybabies, calling her over, and simply HATING everything of hers that you don't like. There is a thing that is called constructive criticism, but I guess some of you just know nothing about it. Grow up.

It seems the letter is saying you're free to dislike, it's the level of respect you give that makes the difference. The meltdowns some of you were having were outright disrespectful. That's when your dislike of the video crossed the line.

I have no compulsion to ever watch the MR video again because I know she can do better. I pretty much stopped there. She'll either learn when views stall at 10 million or wallow further into denial. I never called her or her friends out of their names. 

At some point, the label will jump in which is probably for the best. She's either doesn't have the eye for catching visuals or doesn't care. Now you see why some artists don't get creative freedom. It's a business at the end of the day. If she TRULY wanted to be indieGa, we wouldn't even know Joanne existed except for YouTube uploads.

I participate in this forum, and have for years, because I'm a fan of Gaga's work and enjoy the opportunity to discuss it with other fans. That, to me, includes critically analysing her work - the good and the bad. I'm not dragging her, I'm not spreading hate/negativity/whatever other trite two-word combinations you can conjure up.

If this whole pathetic argument is about who Gaga's true fans are, I'd say they're the ones who respect her enough as an artist and adult to be frank and honest in their assessment of her work. I thought the Perfect Illusion video was great - simple in the right way, in that there was still enough creative flair and intrigue to make it have rewatch value. If you're trying to paint me as a one-note antifan, you'll have to try a bit harder, dear.

I don't need your patronising advice on what would make me a happier person, and the insinuation that I'm wasting my life is a bit rich considering we're both on this cult site.
