Hey guys,

Do you think it would be a good idea to have a music video without Gaga in it ?

I think it could benefit Gaga right now because she's such a controversial artist and it would focus more on the song rather that the persona that unfortunatly, some people don't like. Plus, it can display another image. After the Million Reason mess I think Gaga would benefit some "cool factor" and having a break of her image would help that.

Justin Bieber "Sorry" is a great exemple. The fact he wasn't in the video made to video cooler and less associated with Bieber itself but more about the music.

It may have worked with DWUW back in 2013 but today not. The video without the artist just worked good for Sorry and Love Yourself, the others flopped hard.

No, unless it's animated. I don't know how she could do a video without her in it since she's telling a story with each video.

No, her image needs to be around so that the public is reminded of her look, as that's part of how she defines eras - through visuals. The public can still be a bit confused as to how Gaga really looks even after all this time because she changes so drastically all the time. If her image wasn't there at all, she'd be even more anonymous. We've already seen a music video without her in it- TIHTY. And it wasn't a success commercially. So, no, I think being in the video is crucial for her. Sorry wasn't intended to be the official video, by the way. Though I can't remember it, apparently, it said "Justin Bieber - Sorry (Dance Video) initially. But when it came down to it, it's like the label couldn't be bothered making a new one since the dance video was getting so many views and likes.

When an artist isn't in the video, it can mean they're disconnected from the story in the song. Sorry in particular is the worst kind of music video to be absent from. If you truly meant your apology, you would have given it in person, not get a bunch of unnamed dancers do a routine over the sound of it. Maybe part of the reason why Sorry has so many dislikes (it's his second most disliked video, soon to become his second 1 million disliked video, a feat only achieved by Miley up until now) is because people found the video very boring and not connected to the song? Yes, a song with over 7 million likes will have a sizeable amount of dislikes too but perhaps the lack of anything happening in it besides a dance routine of girls we don't know is partly where some of the hate is coming from?
