nativenewyorker 1,190
I half agree. One on hand, her team does seem to be full of yes men. Though when she was asked about whether or not she still "gets the truth" a few years ago she acted like she hears constant criticism from her team when they disagree. I think the reality is somewhere in the middle. We all know Gaga is hyper-emotional and VERY headstrong. I imagine that her creative process is very tough on her emotionally, so when she finishes and presents these ideas to her team, critiquing her vision would require treading delicately as to not upset her. And when they do give her negative feedback, she probably is quite defensive because she is so driven and headstrong. It's not a bad thing, it's just that Gaga doesn't seem to know how much the GP actually witnesses of her career. Plus, they're her longtime friends who have been on this whirlwind with her for so long. They've seen all of the pain she's been through, every up and down, they're intimately connected to her and her tumultuous experience as a world famous figure. Therefore, they quickly understand why Gaga wanted to do the Million Reasons video. However, when we watch, we don't have that same inside perspective. To us, we want to see a strong, creative woman entertain us. It's two very different viewpoints. An even bigger disconnect exists between the GP and monsters and even further from Gaga's team. The GP has little to no understanding of what Gaga's been through. They don't know her life story or watch interviews about her like we do. And when her fans who know all of that still fail to connect with the concept of the video, the GP might have an even harder time. I think she needs a fresh perspective in her team. Instead of working in a safe, tight-knit group that have been with her for years, she needs someone who has watched her career from the outside for a dose of reality. While her team finds the video moving and touching, as well as some fans, the reality is that most of us don't see why it means so much to her. To us it comes across as boring or lazy or uninspired. To them, it documents the day to day struggle Gaga goes through. I wonder if they even considered the fact that it may come off as a tremendously wealthy pop singer whining about her extraordinary success and lifestyle. Hades 27,980
Gaga should really have some Q&A with fans asap interact and listen to some things. But i mean real fans not the delusionals who punish every criticism. You know what i say. I guess someone will quote me saying ''leave you are stupid, gaga does no wrong'' etc.

hELXIG 43,041
Because it's so personal to them all that it really touches them. And she's in a space now where she makes content for those she loves, in hopes that if it touches them, other people will relate to it and be touched too. I remember her speaking at SXSW and saying that she wanted to retire from the commercial music industry entirely. That she knows she'd still be happy writing music just for her and her friends. She even said that sometimes she writes songs she really loves, which she knows would be hits, but she keeps them for herself and her friends because she doesn't like it going into the numbers machine and getting analysed by everyone. Her music and work are really personal to her. She almost quit entirely when it became all about success. So now I believe she just makes what she loves making without worrying too much. Without listening to all the figures and numbers that her old team would've been relaying to her. This is why we say "she doesn't care any more". It's her way of finding a middle ground between being happy, and working to be successful. And if she manages to be successful at the same time then sure she will celebrate! Because the music she wrote only for her own happiness, just happened to also find success. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. bloody g 31,746
Monsters are the only ones that don't like the video. The truth is that MR has the best like/dislike ratio and GP loves it. Also the single itself is doing amazing. The poroblem is not Gaga or her team, the problem is that monsters want DIC as the new single when it is more than obvious that it would flop harder than G.U.Y. Some monsters are the only delusionals here. Gaga has changed, at least for Joanne. If you want her to be in big events she needs success. And that is achieved by being praised by the same ones who made Closer #1 for three months. 『𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝』
JevyDuty 2,961
I agree.. she needs imput from people outside her circle. People who's livelihood doesn't depend on her. People with different point of views. Her team knows her too personally so they'll see things in these videos that are cool for people with inside information. The GP has no inside information... so...

HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
Or maybe, just maybe, she's finnaly allowed to do things she wants to do because she surrounded herself with people who genuinely love her and support her for whatever she does creatively. She went through living hell three years ago because of her auful ass team and the last thing she deserves ever again is a controlling and manipulative one that bashes her every move. And I'm glad she's turned the table, she's now allowed to express herself truely without having to wear, say, or make whatever BS you and her old "friends" want her to do.
