Did the ARTPOP backlash destroy Gaga her creativity?

1. She seems more depressed than never before...

2. Her choreos since Laurien G. left sucks (except for Applause)

3. She doesn't use RedOne since 2011

4. Her work with them was way better than her work without them

1. She seems to have been down recently, yes, but at least nothing compared to how she stated she felt during and after the first promotional run of ARTPOP. She had some big ass issues, then.

2. I'm not denying that her choreography hasn't been as good as before, but let's not forget how Boomkack kind of became an iffy person to Gaga halfway through BTW. Her helm as creative director, while not bad at all, definitely clashed heads with Gaga's creative freedom.

3. Gaga has written with RedOne for both ARTPOP and Joanne. While it was only co-writing credits, she definitely has worked with him extensively, especially in 204 and 2015. Why she didn't use him as much, we will never know.

4. That is all completely subjective. While in some aspects I agree (like her visuals), other aspects I vehemently disagree (her music has grown, and her musicianship has evolved).

---

I'm not trying to completely slam your original point, I'm just saying that what makes Gaga great is not completely dependent on her old team. Could she use a bit of a change-up? Of course, for example: how Ruth Hogben, who was fantastic before, somehow managed to create some incredibly underwhelming videos. Either get her out or get her to do better.

But in the end, Gaga is still a spectacular musician and artist. One (... or two) sh*tty video shouldn't make us give up on her.

I dont, I prefer this era to any other. I want her to stay simple. She is so happy right now and I love that she is happy! I love the music video because it shows her a chapter in her life and some of what she went through.

She doesnt need any costumes like previous eras to stand out. Her MV doesnt need to go crazy. She is showing her creativity in other ways. You all need to grow up. What did you expect from the video - guitars shooting flames? Give me a break. The video was a beautiful video of her and what she went through.

U still dont get it

the issue isnt just simplicity... its that shes not doing the simplicity well... her old style she did well

But ill be honest. She was a unique force and she stood out and was the best at what she did. Now shes ordinary, an underground artist can do this

She gave up her uniqueness. But worse of all, i dont think shes doing it well

A video can be simple but still be better edited or have emotion that doesnt look so forced

But like u said, if shes happy shes happy.

Monster Voices

Haven't honestly read the entire post but..

Why do people think that creativity = strange clothes and crazy videos. Artists have been creative for hundreds o f years without those things. Look a the music our girl has pun on Joanne. That is ****in' creativity!

If the critics were able to affect Gaga's drive, passion and creativity, then Gaga is not an artist after all.

What kind of messed up sentence :toofunny:

An artist is NOT a freaking God.

Being affected by negativity has nothing to do with being an artist. Artistry is about honing your expression.

Not being affected by negativity is about personal growth and maturity

It's two VERY seperate things

Not really.

Me as an artist: Yes maybe sometimes I feel bad with criticism. But I would NEVERRRRRRR filter/change/basic my work just so a critic is happy.

It really IS ahout honouring your passion and never give in to what people say.

At this point i don't care 'what destroyed' her. If she's not able to serve us an actual album with good visuals, then she can feel free to quit her career. It's just too much that we went through all of her transitions, Cheek to Cheek, Acting & etc, and what did we geet, old & used outtakes. If she wanted to show us her personal side (although i don't agree) personal thing needs to stay personal, she could've released the Terry/Gaga documentary, that she never put out.

At this point she just proves how insecure she is, changing genres on every album, she contradicts herself all the time.

Gosh, you were just put through SO much. I'm sorry you had to deal with it :toofunny:

Yeah but if you had to put yourself on the chopping block... It might be different.

She made a career, a business out of it and she has to deliver that aspect of it too. Whether we agree with it or not.

How can you say Million Reasons isn't creative? Just because it isn't visual assault doesn't mean there's not a vision there. Her going for a complete series of interconnected videos for this album is a very big project and telling a cohesive story requires plenty of creativity.

I think it made her super afraid to push the envelope and release conceptual music, thus... the Joanne era  :poot:

So why not just release it as a whole. It's just awkward af

Yup. She should change her stage name if she doesn't wanna live up to it. Simple af.
