CheapGin 561
I feel like gaga definitely considers how an album cover would look alongside the others when displayed all together, but she is more iconic than most. Do you think other artists think through that mindset??
DeanWinchester 41,390
Yes. See Weezer, Led Zeppelin and Guns N Roses. They have albums that follow similar formats/series Flyin' like a 1000 Doves
Easy 5,305
Title yes. MJ has been using single word titles for all his main projects (non greatest hits). covers too. Ed Sheeran teas. How each colour represents an era. His new era is blue. Gaga too, it's always her in the middle.
Rockets 1,807
Some do, some others don't care (like Britney for examples, titles like Femme Fatale, Circus or Glory are just very random) I like when some artists try to reflect that even visually, like Muse who have been using the same logo since their first album and their covers are always very abstract EDIT: I forgot how every solo Bjork album since Debut has a one word title and she appears (in a way or another) in the cover The only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes

Blade 5,603
Yes, probably not all of them but many do. I think also that it's kind of a marketing thing, where they don't want you to have weird, long album titles but rather short and informative ones
Rockets 1,807
I also forgot MIA. All of her album titles are first names (sort of): Arular (her father) Kala (her mother) MAYA (the name she goes by usually in her private life) Matangi (her real name/Hindu Goddess) and AIM (basically her stage name backwards) The only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes

Lucas 27,136
Reading this just made me think about how ARTPOP and Joanne are so similar in a way. (and I just thought about it because I was thinking of Gaga's album covers and ARTPOP and Joanne share the same colors but different shades (pink and blue)). Joanne's cover has toned down shades of blue and pink while ARTPOP has fancy metallic foil pink and blue. Both are basically a way to express a discomfort (ARTPOP being her pain exploding in electronic music and Joanne where the music videos and all her interviews are about her feeling bad and depressed about dozens of things)
