I liked that it was the continuation of the PI music video but I didn't like how they developed it (?). I wish that, after her team "rescued" her, they would have brought her home and left her walking alone on her property. Instead of the Apple Music studio scenes I would have loved to see Gaga playing the piano outside in the middle of nowhere (yes I hate that ****ing guitar)...

I liked the rosary scene but, as other monsters said, she should have explained more about her aunt Joanne and what that gift meant for her.

Also, the concept of a "behind the scenes video" is kinda boring and already seen... she could have come up with a better story for the video so no, it wasn't worth the way. :/

It's different if all her music videos are like this. But I'm sure she'll pick up from now on. There's very few ballads on Joanne, it's unlikely she'll give us two back to back. She'll want a more upbeat one post-Superbowl. If you don't like it, just accept it and move on, something better will be along soon.
But remember that this is Gaga's stripped back, traditional musician era. Less focus on the big visuals and craziness, more organic and natural. Surely the album must have given you this impression by now? Million Reasons is Gaga at her most vulnerable and it's a hearbreak ballad, so a simple music video was expected.

Yes, it reminds me a bit of Selena's Kill Em With Kindness video but thing is, all her videos this era have been this uneventful. That's when it becomes a bit draining (but KEWK is her 5th most watched video of all time and is becoming one of her most liked, so go figure). There's more going on in Million Reasons than I've seen in some boring videos this year. And if it's any consolation, you won't have to worry about this becoming one of her most disliked videos any time soon. I sometimes wonder if singers are making their videos more basic right now so that they stand a really low chance of getting a ton of dislikes. If there's not much happening, there really isn't anything to dislike, hence why a lot of really basic videos right now are massively liked and only have a handful of dislikes. I don't see anyone majorly disliking this. If they find it boring, they'll either watch it and leave it at that or if they're a fan, leave a like just to support her. That's the big upside to simple videos. Don't be polarising and you'll get liked.

Even Dark Horse MV was better

Eh, it was definitely a Katy Perry video. There's actual production value in that MV compared to the last 2 MVs we got.

So I cba to read this whole thread rn but from what I've seen so far it's not great, I mean the poll results actually surprised me.

I thought it was worth the wait, I wasn't expecting exploding cars and dance routines for a song like MR. It serves the song well and has introduced a narrative which I'm all for. How do we not know that there is truth to the story that's being told, maybe once she did to AWOL in the dessert and people had to come and find her? Maybe she wasn't taken straight to a MV recording but she's making a point that she still does give it her all when she feels **** inside.

OT: To people concerned about it being a low budget video - yea it probably is. It's likely she doesn't have the financial leverage with her label like she did during BTW. I'm sure she had to bankroll quite a lot of stuff herself during AP, the original artrave in NY she definitely paid for and I think the GUY video (might be wrong though), not mention possibly clothes/wigs everything else, probably spent millions of dollars to keep us (and pretty much was purely for her fans) happy and look where its got her. Would you spend millions of your own money to keep a fan base happy that are impossible to please?

Not the bore worms!

Almost 70% thinks that it wasn't worth the wait. Alarming...

She needs to re-create herself in an artistic way.

Spoiler

Clinical psychology tells us arguably that trauma is the ultimate killer.

it looks slapped together, and the PI scenes actually look like leftover footage, which is what they are, I am sure.

But at this point, I am glad we got a video, whatever it is, so the song can get more promo

Its s**t.

They got the behind the scenes from the PI video and mixed it with a second shot of the Apple music commercial and this is what we got.

Being objective; it's very mediocre 5/10. Visaully, storyline wise, shots, acting... it's just not good guys...

yes its personal, its close to home... but it's just really boring...

Ita not about the money though. Its avout the vision, the passion. Its all gone. No up and coming designers, video directors, no art, not visual feasts... you dont need money for that. You just need to be hungry for it. And shes not. You can clearly tell shes struggling to cope.

It's not authentic. It looks staged for gods sake. We've seen her getting ready before. We've seen her cry emotionally and drop on the floor before and it was done a MILLION times better. GUY was personal. MTN and You & I were personal and authentic ! This looks like a freaking fragrance commercial....

exactly my thoughts, cute but too cringey for professional actress
