gagu 1,928
I really don't care very much about charts and sales, but if she goes number 1 of course I'm happy for her, why I can't be it, same for the awards. If she doesn't win I'm like okay.. that doesn't affect my life so no bother. I don't see it as being hypocritical "Jezus iz a biskweeeet!" Oivind 287
Does chart success matter for my enjoyment? No. My favorite band of all time, Faith No More, had only 3 Billboard topp 100 hits (the best reached #9), but none of them are my favorite songs by them. Joanne's success does not matter for my enjoyment of Gaga, either. It's my second favorite album by her (The Fame Monster is still my favorite). But chart success matters to me because it could impact her tour. Will she come to Norway if she's not successful enough to fill a decent-sized concert venue here? I'm afraid pop artists will never have the kind of loyal following rock and metal bands have, so I think they are more dependent upon some recent success to create attention about their tour. I'm also afraid she will spend more time acting and less time on music, if she is not at least mildly successful. Anyway, I think I have a sober view on chart success, and that I'm not a hypocrite. Eighteen 5,430
i am probably a hypocrite, i think it's natural. though i try to be consistent, unless i learn something and actively change my position on a matter. walt whitman said: "do i contradict myself? very well, then I contradict myself, i am large, i contain multitudes." Farron 257
I'm happy for Gaga if she is successful on the charts or wins awards because I love her and she's my fave. Yet if said things don't happen, I honestly couldn't care less. My love for her has nothing to do with how successful she is. I don't think that makes me a hypocrite. superhuman

REALITY 76,254
This describes me perfectly But it's not about being a hypocrite. Of course you're going to celebrate if your favorite artist does well. The issue is when it become an obsession with fans. I'm not going to pull my hair out and scream bloody hell just because she's not in the top 10 or whatever. If it does well, then great, if it doesn't, okay. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

Bradley 59,023
Here's my perspective towards music, not just Gaga's music but anyone's music. Ultimately, chart success and awards, when conferred upon an artist, Gaga or not, are celebrated and appreciated, which explains our natural reaction of congratulating Gaga when she gets them. However, they shouldn't be everything which matters about music. I loved ARTPOP more than Born This Way even if the latter was the one nominated for Grammys. The music should be the focus above all else. What is atrocious is how people quickly dismiss great music as bad ones when they flop, which is pretty unhealthy in my opinion. Father John Misty may not be as popular as some artists out there are but that doesn't make me love or respect him and his music any less. In fact I have more respect for him than for some artists out there.
