Why is ARTPOP Unloved?

To me, listening to an album years after it's release marks how good it truly is. I just got very tired of ARTPOP even though I loved it when it was first released. The production seemed very rushed and cheap imo

Different reasons. A lot of people initially enjoyed it until the results of it's commercial success came abroad. Other's considered, and still consider it, to be a weaker effort than her previous records. Some didn't think it was cohesive. There's an endless amount of reasons, but it's still a relatively good record nonetheless.

More like the 1st single that never was, Gaga want it as a lead single at some point.

I think it's an ok album, and it's not "unloved" at all, there are some pretty hardcore ARTPOP fans in the fan base and many people came to this forum when it released, so I think it's not as hated as some people think. 

Edit: it's definitely not what I was anticipating when Gaga talked about it and described her ARTPOP concept. I think it fell short.

Also, to the members saying that ARTPOP is not as loved as her other albums because of her sales, don't bring the flop excuse, Joanne is not a huge success and most people here love it excessively. ARTPOP is not what some people expected, that's it.

I think people were getting tired of Gaga. She was doing so many shocking things that it suddenly turned into being normal.

I love the album we got BUT I wish it was more conceptual and experimental. ARTPOP is basically pop songs with weird lyrics.

I really hope Gaga ends her contract with Interscope and makes albums that are more than just pop music.

I love ARTPOP, the only song I never liked was Fashion!.

I do think there was a concept, which was rage, exploding, expanding and erasing limits to creativity. A tribute to Icons, freedom and art itself.

She just wasn't ready and felt the pressure of releasing something, not being in a physical and mental good state.

I love the good songs on ARTPOP, it's a shame most of the criticism of the album sounds like it's coming from someone who hasn't heard it.

It's not. A lot of us love it here. It's my favorite album of Gaga's and the first one that really made me a stan. I think it's perfect beginning to end (J&D being a low point). I love the era, the visuals, all of it. I don't think Gaga can ever top it for me.

Personal opinion, but I get confused when people say ARTPOP is their favorite album out of all of them. I certainly don't think it's her best in terms of writing, looks, or message.

The album goes from alien glam to heavy metal to religion to country.. it's my least favorite as a concept
