The songwriting on this album is very strong. The vocals are very strong. The aesthetic style is also strong. It is different, but still sharp. I think you misunderstood my post entirely. I want her to do things differently, I want her to transform and evolve as an artists. I personally enjoy the Americana sound on this new record, and I have no problem with her favoring "minimalism" over the avant-garde. My criticism was over the quality of her work, not the change of direction. The criticism I made in that post was validated a few days later by the release of the Million Reasons video.
