Well shes clearly a product but even so... Theres many products out there and dont achieve longevity at all. This is crazy impressive for anyone

And her streaming numbers on youtube too. She started years before streaming was big but shes #2 most viewed after Justin Bieber

I guess the fact that Work was so popular is more of representation of how our generation thinks and what is considered "quality." I kid you not, I've seen people on facebook and twitter saying that Work was grammy worthy and the best thing since The Beatles. Like I said, its still truly amazing how Rihanna has gained so much success and in such a short amount of time. Goes to show how her team knows what to do.

Well if u think about it "quality" and "good music" is mostly subjective. Theres no rules about what rythems you gotta have or what lyrics have to be about etc

Everyone likes something different. As long as people like it then its fulfilling its purpose

Ive gotten tired of explaining that over and over again to ppl who criticize modern music and think they know for a fact what makes music good and doesnt which is rubbish

What u can distinguish tho is artists and entertainers. Gaga is more of an artist cause she doesnt always deliver what the masses want. Entertainers please their Audience which is what Rihanna does

They both have their places in the industry and no need to criticize one as better than the other

Even for an entertainer that markets for the masses, Rihannas success is really impressive
