Some of this are not 80s influences. And Many of these don't have the clear in your face sound BTW has. Plus this were usually scattered instances and individual songs. BTW as a whole was very 80s influenced and actually had a big impact when released not only as an album, but also the singles.

I think Born This Way was the first unconventional album of the 21st century. The reason I am saying this is because Gaga seem to be the first mainstream pop artist to release an album full of powerful messages that completely deviated from the trendy sound of its time. Born This Way is an album that is ambitious and very unique. While everyone else was busy following trends, Gaga  was busy making the most aggressive and edgy album that she could have made.

This is such a reach.

You don't mention the word "pop album" once. You say "popstar" but Kanye is one as well.

I consider Kanye hip hop.

But you do have to respect other members so let's keep it civilized from this point forwards. :D

I wouldn't say first, but definitely the most prominent within its five year vicinity.

Especially in the pop music/radio scene.

3 points in and ready for more

so much autotune that even britney's songs sounds acapella :lolly:

It was meant to be auto-tuned. Auto-tune is not always used to make the voice better.

Yup! but American Life was released in such a hard moment, in America and the rest of the world, and the sound was already super experimental. I mean, it was 2003, pop was super Baby One More Time, when Born This Way was released, electropop was already stablished

hahahaahahaha so funny xdxdxddddxxxd1111111

Yes I agree. Born This Way is the bravest record in history, not just the 21st century. It didn't beat around the bush. It said exactly what it meant. In fact it's some of the most important words ever uttered by mankind. It's a manifesto of human rights and the potential for us to achieve greatness.
