Diamond Heart Lead Era?

To get straight to the point: How different would this era be so far if Diamond Heart was the lead? Many fans (myself included ) would've loved to see DH as the lead single ushering in the Joanne era. It has the vocals, lyrics, and straight up bop worthy anthematic qualities associated with hits, so do you think it would've smashed or performed similarly to PI?

How would the fashion look, how would the video be like, and, most importantly, how would the promo go? Do you think Gaga and her team would've treated a DH lead differently than a PI lead? 

(And before anyone comes for this thread saying "PI was a bop/the best choice for a lead/etc. Don't even try it  I love PI and actually do think it's single worthy, but not necessarily a lead. Perhaps a 4th or 5th one? Idk I still think PI would've smashed or at least fared a bit better if she did perform it live on TV, but, alas that's in the past.)

I personally think she would've went all gogo-hooker chic Regarding the visuals with an Americana twist. Bandanas and leather and cigarettes but with Classic gogo dancer touches (boots, underwear, etc.) I actually think she would've/could brought/bring back some of her original looks with Lady Starlight, just updated. 

The top two with a mix of the last one would leave me shaking

I would have loved it if Diamond Heart was the lead, it's the perfect comeback single tbh. I think interscope would have also had more faith in it as the lead, so would of probably given it more promo. I think the aesthetic and fashion would have been very american centred, with flags and demin etc.

I agree but I'm not sure about Interscope giving any support since they picked PI as the lead anyways

I mean, it has energy and is fun to sing along, but it's not a very good feel of the album IMO. I actually kind of feel bad for the song because Gaga paid that era dust as opposed to it being a potential later single (perhaps during the tour) and slayed with a few performances

I would have loved it as a single later on as well, it's just a bit too intense to be the lead I think. Although if Gaga actually promoted it it could of had a bit more success, the way she abandoned it so quickly makes me think that she might have wanted a different song to be the lead.

My ideal single order would have been Diamond Heart, Million Reasons, Perfect Illusion, Dancin' In Circles, Hey Girl (or A-Yo)

Yes as lead  single it would slay it needs to become a single at some point. But promo hopefully a lot. But hopefully it becomes s single by the SuperBowl(so she preforms it there) the mini era I hope it's s little crazy but still rockstar 

okay how I imagine the music video 

Scene 1: she wears that shirt like that but with different pants like PI pants or a high waisted  hot pant that's black and shoes the ARTPOP black boots hair slick back wet T mag hair kind of 

this scene will be in a place like this  where she starts the young wild American( she's got a huge American flag and waves it around as she sings then meets ha dancers where they're all spaced out in a frame structure thing kind of 

scene some desert looking place cuz PI paid the desert dust 😛

Then the stripper(go go dancing scenes) She's like in a dramatic revealing outfit and yeah is basically stripping while men throw her with money very dramatic scene she  later takes ha bra off(just because*inserts Wendy gif)

But I like that order of singles! If it were me I'd do : DH, A-YO, Come to Mama, Joanne or Million Reasons, DIC, and then PI

I honestly feel it would have flopped as well. It would be a very underwhelming lead, and given the nature of promotion for Perfect Illusion, it definitely would have flopped if all it got was radio promo and the Dive Bar mini-tour. If anything, in hindsight, Gaga and her label should have gone with A-YO or Dancin in Circles, but they went with Perfect Illusion and there's no use being salty about the lack of success this area. Embrace what we have now and cherish it for as long as you can

I think DH would have been a 1000% better choice for lead single. It's just the best song on the album, imho. HUGE MISTAKE making PI the lead single.

Who's being salty  We're just having a good time fantasizing about pop eras sis 

Anyways, I disagree. Some people were turned off immediately by PI but DH is pretty much universally enjoyed by fans and the GP. I think in terms of promo it would've been different as well. I low key think Gaga didn't promote PI as much because of her label picking it and she not liking their decision  It's not a surprise that she doesn't always get along with stuff her label does. DIC could've been a lead but I honestly think it would've damaged the albums sales because it literally sounds very different from the rest of the tracks moreso than PI. I think A-YO could've been the lead as well
