I would pretend I'm shocked that some people actually took some of the things he said seriously but this site has already proven that to me :emma:

And the idiots yelling "lock her up!" at many of his rallies.

Born Brave

Honestly, I just want Trump to put pressure on President Obama to pardon her of anything ongoing- so we can put this behind us and move on. It was Obama's state department that made this mess out of control in the first place- it would be the right thing to do to just pardon her.

Tbh I don't think it's fair that some of you are making fun of Trump for not pursuing it- he is kind of showing civility (something people say he's not capable of).

If he REALLY wanted to, he could make her life a living hell.

He continues to show how his campaign was run by pure demagoguery.

I know actual people who wanted Clinton thrown in prison.

He isn't being civil. He knows there isn't a case. The FBI cleared her twice.

Of course he won't.

And his supporters will find some weird logic to explain his decision (anything but "there's no case against Clinton").

Pardoning would be an admission of guilt, which is not the case

That's not how pardons work, you can to actually be found guilty of a crime and Hillary hasn't even been charged of any crime? What would he even pardon?

A pardon isn't a get out of jail free card that you can just save and use :ladyhaha: :ladyhaha: :ladyhaha:

Also, that's not showing "civility". Not using the power of the high office to punish your political enemies is absolutely not going above and beyond when it comes to civility....

You don't understand their intentions. It's not because they feel sad for HRC. They used 'LOCK THAT CROOKED CORRUPT CRIMINAL CLINTON UP!' as a campaign device, probably the scariest one the US has seen in a long time. Now they're backtracking because

a. They want to make progressives less passionately against him (avoiding protests)

b. They don't want to risk embarassment from being unable to find anything to punish her for, after all the work they did. That would make their next elections more difficult to win.

It's all self-interest and has nothing to do with sympathy. If he was a good person he would've never said he wanted it anyways, but for his own interests he went on with it.

REALITY

Well of course, he also has bigger things to worry about than Clinton's emails.

I wonder how Trump supporters feel. You voted for a racist, misogynistic, entitled bigot, and even if you voted for him because of something else, voting for him still means that you ultimately are okay with the things he has said.

Whispering

The decision to appoint a prosecutor was never within the power of the President. In fact, it would have been an abuse of power and would have been an impeachable offense.

The only precedents for the kind of vow Trump made to "lock her up" are to be found in dictatorships and banana republics, not the United States. The closest parallel may be what Yanukovych (a former Paul Manafort client) did to Tymoshenko in Ukraine.

The government has wasted enough money! Clinton's emails have now been investigated above and beyond any standard for the suspected offense. It's time for the FBI to start spending time investigating Trump's oversees business connections and how he will make his decisions based on those ties.
