giskardsb 12,565
does anyone else hate the word "Bops"? Makes me think of Nickelodeon/Disney level stuff targeted at pre-teens. Bops to me imply mindless entertainment for kids to dance to, stuff that is easily digested with no substance, put together by some producer du jour for the sole purpose of getting a hit and then forgotten in a month. So when someone says "Joanne has no bops", I think "thank God." If you want people to treat pop music as something more than just superficial entertainment, quit using the word "Bop." /rant. Dominic 11,922
It's not specifically the word it's the general reaction to pop music on here as if it's some low-grade piece of music that takes no input. It's pretty ignorant. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
SamJ 8,008
when I think of a bop I think of shake it off and when I think of shake it off my fave screws up with cheesy cringe so yeah lets banish the term bop. Ew

Cerny 4,270
So you're implying that kids are dumb and will dance to whatever "mindless" tune you throw at them? How can some music be mindless if you need a brain to compose the melodies and lyrics? It's not like it's randomly generated. Why would I care if someone calls a song a bop?
