“Gaga does what she wants"...

I've seen this numerous times and I certainly believe that it is false 100%. What fans want has always been something that has driven Gaga to a certain extent; and that sort of crushes her into doing music that she actually wants and music that her fans want. You see, the problem with Joanne in my opinion is that she hasn't fully gone out towards the genre, you know? You can interpret it in two ways: Gaga is trying to make music she enjoys while still exectuting what fans want and expect from her or Gaga is using this imagery to seem authentic and “the girl next door" type.

Of course one can not say that Gaga isn't being herself, but throughout the course of her career she has created an image that certainly isn't...well Gaga.

I completely agree,

In my opinion she trapped herself in some past stances about her control over her career and how in control she is, and how happy. It's a narrative that was certainly imposed and rehearsed that boosted that image of superGa, the strong, talented, free spirited, and a bit anti-machine.

She does not what she truly wants. But i have more questions, cause there's another factor, she feels like her genre is pop music. From past interviews i always get this impression that many of all this are self impositions, she does on herself. Such as "i have, in the end of the day, make this sound like a pop record, cause that's the artists i set up to be".

In the end, i don't think you need to think very hard. All this analog, blah blah is just talk to sell and fool people. The album, these songs suffer deeply because the sound is too well cut, there's no edges. It becomes a bit vapid, like any pop record, and it doesn't work for this, as well as it's something that was promised that didn't really happened.

Also is she afraid of exposing herself, she was during ARTPOP, she said about being difficult to write music at the piano. She wanted to go all out, but chicken out halfway, or compromised from the start. I don't know, it seems there's only Mark and her in the studio but maybe it's like before and there's a whole bunch of people.

It's all confusing

I'm sorry, but do have anything nice to say towards, Gaga? All I see from you in particular is just constant bashing about Joanne and the direction she's currently going in.

OT: I get what the O.P.'s saying, to a certain extent. I personally don't think she's out of her comfort zone in this particular era, I think the fans and the public in general are out of their comfort zone with her.

I believe she's trying to be herself, I do think some of her still wants to please those hardcore fans that just undoubtedly love her pop music. Personally, I think Joanne is her best album, musically speaking. I absolutely adore it, but I get what you're saying about the "not committing to the genre" thing.

Pointless, since y'all don't even know the girl to judge if she's being herself or not. You're clearly just working within what you think, your opinion and perception of what she's doing (your "Joanne genre" argument is... what ?:madge:) Continue, though, I enjoy dumb people :lolly:
