Because the student died just days ago, he has been in a coma ever since Halloween.

Correcting myself: I read an article when Gaga first posted about this that stated he had been in a coma for a week, appearently those claims were wrong and he died one day after the attack.

However, this is not the first time Gaga posted about this as well.

It's not a political story, it is a story about a human being who simply wanted to go to college in the US. He was someone's friend, brother, and son. 

My guess is that with all the overwhelming 24/7 coverage of the election, it is taking awhile for this story to get some attention. I'm going to say that Gaga probably just heard of this story from someone, because no news station is discussing anything outside of Trump and anything having to do with him.
