Celebs reacting to Trump

How is it that since the election, many American stars have not mentioned anything? whether good or bad, protests or praise.

I'm thinking of Taylor Swift (she posted a pic of herself going to vote, but no reaction), Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey, just to name a few...

This is all based on their Twitter, as of November 10, 2PM EST.

Kinda odd that the country is the most tense it's ever been in years, and that the whole world is watching, scared of the outcome of the next following months.. and yet nothing on their part. I wonder what their first post-election tweet will be :nails: "hey guys! buy my new single it's lit ;)"

Too scared to tarnish their image by getting political or simply ashamed of revealing their vote?

thoughts?

Taylor Swift's public 'controversial' comments are always self-beneficial. For example, when she spoke out against Spotify underpaying artists & pulling her catalogue from there and then taking up a lucrative advertising deal with Apple Music a couple months later even though they only pay $0.00003 more than Spotify do.

Her speaking for either Clinton or Trump wouldn't do great things for her sales, so she wont say anything.

Probably. Nobody is supposed to say anything, though.

Did Beyoncé speak when the Kesha thing happened? Or Katy? Nope. If something can create bad backlash they just keep it. Katy stood by Hillary because she knew this wouldn't affect so much as going against her producer. And Beyoncé only talked about black people when it was the fashion this year, after she's been seen bleached. they're all a whole bunch of hypocrites, that's why i stan the queen

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

This is just speaking volumes about their morals, but they are no politicians, not everbody is a Lady Gaga. That's why she is the only one I stan.

Wow you're extremely prejudiced and mad towards these artists!

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

Same

I already don't like the artists that I mentioned. So this is just an even more effective repellent for me towards them.

Like

I have more respect for Katy Perry now. That says a LOT.

They/we are all devastated and heartbroken that Hate won in this election.

It'll take time to figure out how to best move forward.

One thing is clear though:

Had Hillary won, every one of these stars would have sent out very many posts of celebration, support and pride, thrilled that we get to continue on all the great progress we've made in the last 8 years as Americans.

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

About Lemonade: Every single album is a fictional, imagined version of an artist's reality or a fantasy. I'm sure you know that you are not owed an autobiography from any artist. When you're a pop artist, tabloids and gossip is part of your canvas and repertoire. One would be an idiot not to work with it. She never gave a single interview for Lemonade; so actually you never heard her "talk about fake divorces".

In terms of Beyonce and her blackness,
It's not in your place to discuss or determine how black someone should be.

Beyonce's been around since 1998. Black Lives Matter movement began in mid-2013, after George Zimmerman was acquitted for the brutal murder of 17-year old Trayvon.

Her self-titled album Beyonce was already in the works long before this, and was released December 2013. Lemonade was the next album, so she addressed / gave support to the movement accordingly, through her film and performances.

That is her way of fighting against racial injustices POCs face daily.

Would you share what YOU do to fight against senseless police violence and hate crimes?

Beyonce used BEYONCE as a feminist standpoint because that was cool at the time.

Beyonce used LEMONADE as a racial standpoint because BLM became a a huge movement.

This girl went for years not vocalizing pubic issues until it became lucrative for her.
