Redstreak 6,653
Trump aides are organizing what one Republican close to the campaign calls the First Day Project. “Trump spends several hours signing papers—and erases the Obama Presidency,” he said. Stephen Moore, an official campaign adviser who is a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, explained, “We want to identify maybe twenty-five executive orders that Trump could sign literally the first day in office.” The idea is inspired by Reagan’s first week in the White House, in which he took steps to deregulate energy prices, as he had promised during his campaign. Trump’s transition team is identifying executive orders issued by Obama, which can be undone. “That’s a problem I don’t think the left really understood about executive orders,” Moore said. “If you govern by executive orders, then the next President can come in and overturn them.” http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/09/26/president-trumps-first-term/ Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Aura Veil 2,395
The first African-American president will have his entire progressive legacy erased by a birther movement a-hole. This cuts deep.

Today we're mourning but we still have two more months with Obama. After that, we're going to be fighting tooth and bloody nail to keep every scrap of decency and progress. The country will remember Obama and when we're in tattered pieces in 2020, we'll elect a progressive to rebound from this mess. I'm already thinking about who I want too. Michelle Obama, Cory Booker, or Martin O'Malley. I'm sure my list will be 50 names long by then. Whimsical bitch
Bebe 17,289
""That’s a problem I don’t think the left really understood about executive orders,” Moore said. “If you govern by executive orders, then the next President can come in and overturn them.”" That is so ****ing evil. Obama had to deal with a Republican congress that refused to cooperate with him, he couldn't get anything past congress. The complete injustice of this is so heart-wrenching. To have eight years of progress made under the first African American president torn away by a man who aggressively pushed racist conspiracy theories that Obama was born in Kenya is devastating.
