He's actually a big fan according to a thread on this site, and has contributed to her mac aids fund apparently. Watch him go back on this statement and beg her to do his inauguration.

I don't understand, why do people consider him racist? Because he want to deport illegal mexicans? Could it be because they're there... illegally?

He's trying to impose the laws. How's that racist?

I am genuinely confused about this too. When I brought this up a lot of people immediately dismissed me. I'm not picking a side. Just asking a question. Someone trespasses for decades, and has a felony record(which is the parameter he stated), should not have the laws applied to them? Confusing stance to take.

yes these people come here illegally, but many times it's to build a better life for themselves and their families. it's called having compassion for others in need. the fact of the matter is many are here, it's done,  and some of them have been here for years or from a very young age (the US is all they know) and are law abiding citizens. donald trump's rhetoric hasn't always been those "with a felony record," it has only recently changed (among with a whole swath of other rollbacks). every time he has said "11 million illegal immigrants" he's not talking about those with a criminal record, he's talking about them all. those with a criminal record (iirc) are at about 840,000 people. the point of all of this is that he is volatile and he is essentially untrustworthy because of it (he can say the right thing now but he's changed his mind so many times, who's to say he won't change it again?)

trump has also threatened to undo president obama's executive actions, right? well one of them is DACA, which allows immigrant children who have been here from a young age to stay here under the protection of this program (they must seek renewal every two years).

and then you have the fact that president obama has already been quite harsh on deportation, deporting mexican people in record numbers, some of whom do not deserve deportation in my opinion. vice covered a story where a father had been deported, leaving his children behind in the US, because he had a DUI. he had been in the united states for 27 years (iirc). that is excessively harsh in my opinion and i have been critical of the obama administration for this.

as to trump being racist it can be attributed to a number of things: his immigration policy (on both mexicans and muslim people), and as an extension of that, his vetting process (which at times included a religious test). more recently we can look at his appointment of steve bannon, former chairman of breitbart news, an alt-right news network. whether or not he really is a racist or not we cannot be sure, but his actions and his words surely do bend toward it from time to time.

in my opinion, he's not a racist, he's just careless with his words, doesn't know anything about immigration or foreign policy, doesn't have a heart, and employs bombast as a campaign tool to an extent that has been extraordinary (in a bad way).

sorry, this turned out long.

tl;dr: idk if he's a racist. but he's definitely a really dumb assh*le.
