Is Gaga Crossing Over to Established Artist-tier?

Has Gaga proven she's back on track to longevity and becoming a firmly established musician/artist?

These days during award shows I see so many younger artists/singers that I honestly do not know, and Gaga, when mentioned in articles (i.e., the most recent EMA articles), when described seem far removed from how she was often described in articles when she debuted. Before, Gaga was almost always described with very distinct, often numerous adjectives. Now, many articles just straight up say "Lady Gaga". Is this good? Or a step-down? Is it meant to say that everybody knows who Gaga is, no descriptions needed? Or more like they are including her in the article just to get it over with and cover all their bases? Plus, she's often grouped with her contemporaries now, instead of dedicating a separate paragraph for her.

I know the era just started, but I feel like whether you're a chartster, salester, acclaimster or a MCmonster, or music not the blinger (even those critics and haters outside the fanbase), everyone is waiting to see how Joanne unfolds--will it continue the perceived ARTPOP failure, or will she rise above it? What do you think are the prevailing views on her right now?

Cause they don't need to describe "Lady Gaga, 30, women which was use a meat dress in 2010, but now going straight by always use pink cowboy hat matched with every outfit she wear"

The biggest fans/Summer super star voting thing prove it every year.....

She is the biggest and most popular singer in the world, she almost won the biggest fans award, without a hit since 2013, she managed to scare Bieber's whole fandom who needed help from the Directioners, and Justin Bieber had 2 smashes from his album, 3 other smashes where he's featured in and he's touring :diane:

If that doesn't mean she's established I don't really know what does, the only singer that can fight teen fandoms, the only singer everyone talks about being on the top of the charts or not :v:

The thing you mentioned I notice as well and I don't like, is her being grouped with her contemporaries.  She used to be placed completely apart from everyone else.  Now it's like they are fading her into the rest of the pack.  Maybe this is just her subdued era and next comes some more reverence and elevation above the others again.  Idk.

The articles seem to be putting more thought into the newcomers now. Has it always been this way?

The lead single peaked lower than Applause and the era is still more of a success than ARTPOP lol

Even as a huge ARTPOP fan, I have to agree.

OT: I think that she's done way more than enough to solidify her place as an established artist. She and her career are here to stay, no matter how many haters want to she that she's "over."

Joanne is already a bigger success than ARTPOP. The whole era just feels so much nicer.

The best thing she did was creating a fanbase. The last time a pop artist had such a crazy fanbase was Madonna, her fans have been with her for more than 30 years straight, and that's what makes you successful, having the power to remain in people's minds and assuring tour sales, album sales etc. Gaga is iconic already, ir's been 8 years and that doesnt seem to stop

I don't think Joanne will end up being seen as a misfire in the way that ARTPOP was. Clearly she is showing no interest in keeping up with the current trends in music, so no one came blame her if she doesn't "chart well". The album itself is being considered a better album overall than ARTPOP was too. (It's not considered her "masterpiece" or anything, but it is a definite step forward). Either way, Gaga is nearly 10 years into her career and she can still pull some of the biggest first week sales compared to her contemporaries, receive unanimous acclaim for her talent and performances, and book the biggest and most relevant stages in music (Super Bowl 2 years in a row).

She's already the 9th best selling female artist of all time with nearly 190m records sold and her career is still going strong (even if she isn't at her peak anymore) so imo, she is established af :stalkga:

tl;dr - queen remains unbothered. she ain't over yet :stalkga:

Exactly. God knows I'll be buying tickets to see her when she's at her peak of 75.

Gaga is and will always be a league ahead of her contemporaries. She goes above and beyond what others do. People are caught up in the present but looking back 30 years from now, a lot of people will appreciate her. Unfortunately, probably when its too late (death). Just look at MJ, everyone got caught up in the present and bad mouthed him. When he died, everyone realized, just how amazing he was. I can already tell Gaga will be somewhat similar as far as being appreciated. She's like a shapeshifter. So many looks, themes, already in her short career. Plus most of all, she has the talent to back it up.

I was scared before Joanne that she will not reach that "established artist" status. But because of the reaction to the album she pulled through. A big era might've been better but we got something to secure her place. She's like Madonna post-LAP, no matter what she'll do it'll be guaranteed to be talk about. Eras will differ in success, we might get a COADF or a TEOM or not, but she's here to stay. Fingers-crossed that the halftime will further solidify that.
