Marry the Night, the final single, was only released six months after the BTW album. It flopped much harder than DWUW (though obviously not as bad as GUY) and she was viscously overexposed by then. I think BTW era was almost as front-loaded as ARTPOP, it's just that she was falling from a much higher place with the BTW era. That being said, I don't think any song would have done well in place of G.U.Y, as the hype was largely over by then. Luckily we did get an incredible video out of it, so I would keep it as is! Had there been a video and the song was a smash, the follow up should have been a fast beat, crazy song like MANiCURE. The singles should have been: 1. Applause 2. DWUW (with Christina) 3.
