The album will qualify for the 2018 Grammys, however the award for "Best Pop Vocal Album" doesn't mean the best vocals on a pop album, it means the best pop album that has vocals (i.e. not an instrumental album) which is a common misconception about the award. I can still see her getting at least a nomination tho

TFM didn't really have vocals though

Don't hype me up m8. I'm expecting at least one award and at most 2-3

I'm just stating a fact. If it doesn't happen, then the Grammys don't exist.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

this award is 25% about chart success (the sales and chart position of the singles and album itself)

25% about quality (production, and all that)

25% about vocals

25% about critic reception.

Joanne has the quality and vocals, a normal critical reception and we have to wait to how the other albums in the period will do comercially, expect Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Lorde, Bruno Mars, and probably even Taylor Swift

it's too early to say a prediction but so far this is the best album released in the 2018 deadline grammy period

It'll qualify for the 2018 grammys. And yes it'll win OBVIOUSLY.:classy:

The release was on the data for 2017 grammys, no?

Not only that, but if you're a skilled vocalist you can even tell if the vocal range was achieved by great technique or is artificially forced (and potentionally damaging to the vocal chords). It's not really about "the range" itself, it's about how secure and proficient are you within the realms of what is physically possible for you to do. Britney has a larger vocal range than Gaga, yet all of us know who the more skilled vocalist is for example. :sis:

Is that actually how they break it down?

Good so it doesnt have to compete with Adele cuz we all know who the judges would decide out of the two :awkney:

... And if by any chance Gaga did win over Adele, the GP would hate on her so badly for that

True, good thing Joanne is up for 2018 Grammys

i don't know.. i think joanne needs more impact.

I agree Joanne needs more impact, but as said, it's too early to criticize the album cycle.

We've literally had Joanne for 8 days

I think thats so dumb

They have dozens of categories to award music quality yet they dont have one for one of the biggest things in a good song (the vocals)

Thats really dumb actually

Also vocals is one if the few things you can judge on a technical basis. You can measure range if octives and how much power they have and whether they stay on key

Most other factors on the otherhand of what makes music great is highly subjective and opinionative. Theres no true way to judge

the one important thing u can actually judge in a technical way they have no award for :rip:

Well live performances were awarded before, with pop vocals you cant really say cause of autotune

I think the previous person confused you.  There is no "best pop song award", however there is a "best pop solo performance" award which absolutely has to do with vocals.  If Million Reasons, Diamond Heart, or Joanne become successful singles, Gaga has a VERY good chance of walking away with that award.

That award category has been terminated tho. 2011 or 2013 i forget
