Didn't receive well to people, mainly cause it isn't a mainstream pop song. Personally, I find that song very forgettable and not worthy to listen to more than once.

It's not a comeback or lead single material. The gp didn't like it and despite being gone for 3 years she did no promo for it. It also needed a cooler video

not good enough, not strong enough, no suitable enough, not fresh enough, not commercial enough, not innovative at all, and overall a mistake for a single

Whispering

Not much promo and the label pulled it. It really didn't get first single treatment.

That's okay, though. Now, most people will be familiar with it and it is a great song live, so it will be amazing on tour!

It was never a hit song. It's just not that great. I personally like it, but I don't love it. There's something about it that makes it hard to listen to on repeat. It's just not very fun.

She should've released A-YO as the lead. It's a total bop, it's catchy and fun, and the "f*ck the haters" lyrics would have been far more relatable.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

fandom overhyped themselves thinking it would be some mega pop legendary hit song, the GP wasn't into it, she did not promote enough, the song was god tho

What's with the "Gaga didn't promote it enough" line, when she didn't promote it at all... and there is your answer. :toofunny:

Gaga Medicine

If it had a single TV performance it would have entered top 10 imo. It would not be an Applause size of hit (14 weeks in top 10) but at least it would have done better.

But I think the main reason is that the second half of the song is repetitive. Even so, I love the song and I will never understand criticism like "it has no melody" or "her vocals are awful" since beloved songs by this fanbase like Poker Face and Judas have less melody in the verses than Perfect Illusion and the chorus of those songs are equivalent, if not similar, especially in comparison to PF.

Economy

Gaga didnt release pop music for 3-4 years and although she gained some respect back for her jazz era and classical performances, she wasnt popular per say

After long breaks, you rarely get an instant hit. The GP has to gain an interest in you again. And yes low promo as well to an extent

Smash comebacks after long breaks like Justin Timberlake had for example do occur sometimes but they are rare

So you're saying it's not?

Repetitive in a forceful way? Perhaps. Not necessarily a flaw, though. Most of Gaga's singles are forcefully repetitive. :interestinga:

My issue with your post was implying that we love it only because it's Gaga. I mean, a few of the most respected contemporary musicians worked on the song. It is possible that they made something of quality that not everyone will appreciate right now.
