Million Reasons for 2nd Single

Yeah Gaga it's not about the #1 etc etc

but you used to manipulate fame before, "the art of fame". There is a whole college course on your fame sociology. You knew how it worked and you played it to get yourself a popular platform so people can pay attention to your message.

The same needs to be done again. You know you're better than the system, so play it. The album needs an initial popular hook to pull people in (MillionReasons) and THEN they will enjoy the rest of the songs in it and be compelled to actually watch interviews etc etc.

It's not about caring or not, sweetie. It's about balancing things out where she can still maintain most of her artistic freedom and gets to make all the choices.

And FYI, there is nothing wrong with her fans wanting to see her on top where she deserves. So, if you don't like my opinion keep it moving

First: don't call me sweetie, you're probably very young and it isn't cute. ;) I don't mean to start any kind of argument and if you think you need to shade me, you need to grow up sis!

Secondly, I'm very happy for her success with this album.. I want to reiterate that: I'm happy  she is getting the bling! But it's just not the most important thing to me or her, I really don't think she cares about what particular single will do best.

In lieu of some infantile gif, I will leave you with this: she could happily live off her previous earnings for the rest of her life now, making new albums with integrity that may sink or rise, very comfortably.

She is lucky enough to be that rich that she can focus on making good albums, which will generate commercial success regardless of single choice, as we're seeing. :)

I work in the film industry. Media is EVERYTHING to me! I'm passionate enough to care about her image and iconic place in history

:bye:

But there are certain things she doesn't care about as much as you do - can't you just play create your own label or something

She's got two songs performing really well that sound completely different from each other. CK helped MR a lot.

This fan base should be happy.

Album sale predictions are really good, and she's getting played on streaming services.

Next week she's in Japan, another big market for her.

AMAs in November. SB LI in February.

I am happy, if that's what you're getting at! I'm very pleased for her. She deserves this, and she didn't earn it by churning out commercial trash in the hope of a #1.

Or if you're implying that fans need to forget this fixation on managing her career and enjoy the success, I'd agree with that too :)

REALITY

It's sort of pointless at this point to change it. Obviously she's in love with the song, at one point, earlier on in the era she said that it was her favorite from the album.

Everything's she posting is helping promote A-YO, and I reckon the main reason that Million Reasons is doing better is because of Carpool Karaoke. Don't get me wrong, it's a phenomenal song and definitely deserves the praise it's getting, but if she had performed A-YO, you guys would be making the same argument for it.

I swear, now she does promo, but now y'all are complaining that it's for the wrong song :interestinga: Never happy I suppose.

My comment really got you bothered, huh. I'm busy watching AHS now but thanks for writing a bunch of nothingness for the sake of replying.

It's just heartbreaking watching the promo single slaying so much harder than the actual single.

Yes, of course it's doing better for Carpool Karaoke; however, CK is one of the biggest promo spots online, and if this was planned out better (knowing she wanted AYO as the second single at least three weeks in advance), then we would've had INCREDIBLE promo for the actual second single, SLAY-O.

Yes, I also do realize the song wasn't out when CK was filmed, but once again... If her team knew it was coming out weeks after, then AYO would've been a good choice to have on it.

But, Gaga did say she's not doing traditional singles. So maybe this is all part of the plan. But for now, you have to understand why some people are upset.

POSSIBLE SNOW-BALL OF EVENTS THAT CAN CHANGE HISTORY:

-MILLION REASONS BECOMES SINGLE:
Hit #1 > Becomes her next iconic ballad smash song to be remembered in history > she starts performing MR more to promote > MR gets nominated for Best Performance and possible Best Song at Grammys > Gaga gets 2+ Grammys to her belt > More people buy her album and get exposed to message and song > More people watch interviews > Fanbase trippled > Successful JOANNE tour with more money to spend on set and budget > Happy fans > Iconic place in history

-AYO BECOMES SINGLE:

Flops > Fans disappointed > Critics attack her > Gaga is remembered as generic dance pop artist > Doesn't get Grammys spotlight because AYO is too pop > gets labeled as another flop era > loss of fans > GP never listened to album because they were never invested > no money > no budget for tour > Joanne Farm Ball

It's understandable why some would be upset, but at the same time, we need to be grateful for what she's doing. She's doing a great job, and she's obviously putting a lot of work into it.

You can tell that she really, really loves A-YO, and for all we know, it could climb up to #1 and be a huge hit. Just because MR is performing well right now doesn't mean that it's going to sustain it—though in the most ideal setting, they'd both do great.

I will agree with you on the time management/planning of CK, though. It would have been a bit smarter for her to sing A-YO, but I suppose that's just something we can't change.

I actually agree. Use Million Reasons now as it will strike people as different and bring attention to the album. Also, ballots are perfect for the winter. Then release A-YO around the Super Bowl as #3.

Hire this B*tch Gaga! :nails:

Great post!.  Mte.  Unfortunately it won't happen and will added the lists of could-have-beens, should-have-beens, and missed opportunities that us little managers make.

I live outside the space time continuum.
