The campaign included the figure it called “unprecedented” in its latest field report Monday, as early voting begins in Florida, with the 133,000 votes comprising mail-in and absentee ballots. Last week, it said that in bellwether Pinellas County in Florida, which is 10% Latino, Democrats now maintain a voter registration advantage that’s increased since March. .. In Nevada’s Clark County, a major population center that include 75% of the state’s residents and is 31% Hispanic, 51,000 people voted on the first day of early voting, with 55% registered as Democrats, while 27% were Republicans. In Arizona, a traditionally Republican state that in many ways represents the key to a Clinton landslide, the numbers don’t look good for Donald Trump, either. With more than 300,000 votes already cast in Arizona, Democrats lead Republicans by 1,000 votes but trailed Republicans by 20,000 votes at the same point four years ago, the campaign said. .. I feel so left out of history in the making but at least we know Florida has a crazy high chance of swinging Hillary because of Latinos. Like, IDK why a lot of people are underestimating the power of the Latino vote, like they know it's going to prove to be a major game changer but I'm not sure if they realize the significance of its potential Just now, Naor Daniel said: I don't get it. Uh... because we don't want to be told to go back "where we come from" and, really, that conservatism is with the older generation who are most likely not eligible to vote unless they have received their naturalized citizenship. IF by going on that - as you say which I don't believe but we will play devil's advocate- ITS the fact republicans treat them like sh it, say foul things about them, and take away their rights and money. Conservative white people who are anti-abortions, anti-LGBT, anti-equal rights. I think a lot of younger Latino newly registered voters aren't completely conservative even tho they may have been raised Christian and/or conservative. No, and here's your why your wrong: For one, whites are not always more secular... etc. whatever you said. First, that's a huge generalization by saying "always" when we know for a fact that is completely false. Which brings me to my next point there is a huge basis of a person's political beliefs based on geography, sometimes religion, education, and ultimately upbringing Also, IDK what Latinos you know but the ones that I have grown up with, the ones I come into contact with on a regular basis, the ones which I personally identify as are far from conservative. Sure, we're not all far-left like many people, regardless of race, gender, and ethnicity, are, but you actually think that most of us would vote for a guy who wants to build a wall prohibiting entrance of Latinos in this US (some of whom can be classified as refugees either present or past but the US refuses to denote this status unto us), deny Syrian along with other refugees spanning continents a place in American soil when this land isn't even the white "majority's" own, support someone who would cut taxes for the rich and leave most of the burden on the middle class which many up-and-coming first generation Latinos will be a part of as we get older and then create posterity? Sure most Latinos wanted Bernie but Hillary is next best option for our future and livelihoods considering many of us grew poverty stricken, coming from homes whose parents didn't have the best in life (my parents didn't even get to go to secondary school because they had to help their family tend their farm in order to subsist, key word, SUBSIST, off of their crop and whatever they had leftover after selling it and laboring hours upon hours in the fields). I am blessed to have my Latino identity as well as my American one, but you making such huge assumptions and generalizations goes to show misunderstood and misrepresented not just Latinos, but almost any minority in this country truly are in American society. Most Latinos that I know then; when given the choice between Bernie and Hillary, out of those that I am acquainted I was the only one to prefer Hillary over Bernie because I knew realistically Hillary had a better chance to actually receive the candidacy.
