You have to consider what a single means, you are suggesting for some songs that are sonically outdated to be put out into radio stations of the world. Radio is a format catered to the general public and not diverse music lovers. No one wants Come To Mama playing in their car, especially non-gaga fans, they'd rather have bieber's song or EDM trash, so if Gaga is gonna create a classic, she at least has to push out songs that have potential to speak to the world. A-YO and Million Reasons have great potential unlike the other songs, in my opinion. A-YO can make any one dance and that's what people want on their radios, happy upbeat songs, A-YO can achieve that while still displaying artistry and becoming a classic rocky folky dance song in an age dominated by shallow electronic music. Million Reasons can touch people's heart's same way Rihanna's Stay and Adele's Someone Like You did. It's such a relatable song , we all have reasons to give up but we need just one to carry one, I mean yes Angel Down can touch people's hearts also but it's in the same vein as Million Reasons which is the more superior song and that's a popular opinion. Again John Wayne is upbeat too but A-YO does the job better, John Wayne as a single is like Gaga releasing Heavy Metal Lover during the BTW era or Mary Jane Holland during ARTPOP. The album exists to please music lovers at heart but singles should be approached from a commercial and gp-friendly stand point, we have to look at the bigger picture. Singles are songs that will appeal to the non-gaga fans/listeners so that they can be interested in the album and buy it thus boosting its sales. Us fans and music lovers at heart have the album to enjoy, the truth of the matter singles are not for us. We have the album, tour and performances to look forward to, what goes on the radio is not something we should be fussy about, as long as they pick the right songs, fan favs can stay on our iphone playlists. This fan base had a meltdown when You and I was chosen as BTW's 4th single over Scheisse, interscope made the right choice though, they catered to a song that had the potential to stand the test of time and not fan favs. You and I is one of her most loved songs by the GP and is a top 10 hit, on top of that it's a testament to her raw talent even early in her career, if Scheisse was put out instead it would have been forgotten months later. Gaga should not allow the people and Interscope to nail her down to a certain sound. And it's clear that when i talk about too release Come To Mama as a single, i know that it's not a song for the Justin Bieber audience, but for the people which loves too hear Stin, Adele and Leonard Cohen. John Wayne in my opinion is a song which can catch especially the young audience, the song song sounds very fresh and hip, but not too static like many pop songs. For me Gaga is a musical chamelon and i jus wish that it's not only reflected with performances, but also with her official song output to public. She should no one allow to put her in a box and accept when labels or people say: " You are not Adele, you are Lady Gaga, you can't have a hit with this - it's a great record, but you are still Gaga " I believe in good music and when the performer also believes in and is passinate about it and the record is honest and good, i think it has good chances to be a hit. Many people loves Come To Mama on this site. It's a classic and Gaga shoul release it as a winter single, i swear it will smash, it has humor and has a very warm vibe, people will love it And i don't talk about Justin Bieber or Rita Ore audience LOL But John Wayne is something for them. Love this record too 27 minutes ago, AntiPotCrusader said: I think fans underestimate this album. I mean who cares if Gaga released say, Joanne (song) as a single. Who's to say that the song would flop? We honestly don't know. It'd be a risk but could pay off. John Wayne and Dancin' In Circles are both fairly radio friendly on their own. First off, you know you know there's such a thing as an enter/return key Second, I agree with you on most. I disagree that Million Reasons is better than Angel Down, but Million Reasons is more reliable in a GP sense. Also, John Wayne has serious Spring/Summer single potential so don't doubt that song too early; if that's not chosen, Gaga's label is probably gonna want to release Dancin in Circles by that point in time. But yeah, I also feel that A-YO and Million Reasons have great second single potential, enough so that Gaga's label have basically shushed her from going to in-depth because they are all still undecided. Still think a double release needs to happen
RickMonster98 7,462
I didn't listen to the interview in full... What did she exactly say? It would be so stupid imo, there are songs that radio would ABSOLUTELY LOVE.

Love this record too Wise words Come to mama is my favorite song on the album and probably one of my all time favorite Gaga song but people think its too cheesy and weird. Everyone here makes fun of it and say its their least favorite. I dont even know who Rita Ora is and barely know two songs of Justin so I wasnt talking about that kind of audience. KingRedd 3,139
Monsters like DIC and JW. The GP likes the more vocal songs like MR and Joanne. The GP seems to like the songs with less pop sound. Ayo sounds old school, million reason has a pop country vibe. They would like songs like Joanne, diamond heart, sinners prayers, angel down, and others with that folk, country rock vibe. May I Read You? 😎

It will be maybe for those a problem who only into sex & party lyrics Especially around christmas time everybody will understand the message when it is played on the radio. Btw: I've seen many Gaga fans like that song. But it's not only about that song, there are many hits on the record. Even if no one expects to hear them from Lady Gaga.
