Some reviews drag her for not putting out dance hits basically :madge:

I mean if they're comparing JOANNE with The Fame/Monster for the smart use of lyrics or the lack thereof, that's fine. But if they are going to judge JOANNE through the lems of EDM/synthpop then that is not fair :madge:

That's very narrow minded, yeah.  But at the same time I think it's valid criticism, they think euro-pop dance is what she does best, and they probably think the music she's putting out is not as good.

Most fans are very content with Joanne though, so I don't get the obsession with the critics. I think some fans want validation just like Gaga and I think that's not the best approach.

Joanne is an AFTER The Fame Red and Blue Stefani. We know her well, the kids who follow her entire career and things that she says, but those on the outside, who only hear each album since she made it big, they get really confused by Gaga and that's alright, unless Gaga really wants to clear it all up, but she really is never copacetic on any album, if you really research and study her only by the albums and artwork during each era.

Some artists are very good at making everything during an era linear, but that just is not Lady Gaga and even when it seemed like that was what she was doing, along came ARTPOP.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Personally, I have given up charts but we all know Gaga (used to have) had so much acclaim in the past, I feel like we should at least have that still because if not, what else is there for us? Plus I just don't want her to be drowned out by negativity again because it might make her depressed again :ohno:

Well it's only going to get more confusing, because in 20 years time she will have written a metal album, a rock opera and a Tony award winning musical :staymad:

Yeah, we should get used to it.

At his point she has two shots left, make an album with an improved sound of The Fame/Monster but following the same foundation, since that what's the critics want. apparently. Or make something completely different and experimental and ditching pop once and for all, if that doesn't get her universal acclaim, nothing ever will.

I seriously dont understand the hate for this album. I would say Im a pretty nonbiased person. Like i can understand the critics for not liking Born This Way and ARTPOP. But I feel like Joanne is close matching up with The Fame (Monster) lyrically.

Yeah, I think she peaked way too early, and I think the level of success she had back in the they isn't something that can be recreated that easily, let alone surpassed. Expecting that level of success and acclaim is like beating a dead horse.

Thankfully, she seems happy now, it seems like she's okay with just sharing her music with the world. I think that's good.

I think everyone over thinks her. No one understands her, but she is an ARTIST. She creates what she does based on what she's feeling, and her perspective at that time. She's at a really good place right now. Everyone acts like we know her and puts her in all these categories with rules. She doesn't play by any rules. She isn't the average pop girl. ( don't we know this by now?) just sit back and enjoy the ride, I promise it won't be boring.
