Also, kinda off topic but since you're a Mariah stan what's the name of that song they use in memes where Mariah is singing an UNBELIEVABLY high note? The Belt is mixed. Hmm... Could it be 'Emotions'? ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

She literally dragged her larynx to hit that E5 in the Apple Music Interview, which is so unhealthy. I wish she'd get a different vocal coach. agreed 100% Her mix was on-point during "Sound of Music" and "Star-Spangled Banner", I can't fathom why she doesn't do it more often. NewUsername 11,502
Finally got Joanne some hours ago and just got back from my second listen. One of the things I like a bit less is that there aren't much long and high notes. I really expected some more songs with notes like that leak "What's wrong with love" or whatever we call it :p Still an amazing album of course! I thought so Even Christina was able to reach a E6 last year but can't belt properly over a B4. I also wouldn't label her an alto, her lows are great but her G5 Belt made me think otherwise. Gagas Voice right now (Belting wise) reminds me of Mariah Carey right now. Comfortable until an Eb5, but all other Belts very rich and well controlled. What I do not like about Gagas voice is, that it seems SO perfected on Joanne for example, there is not much room for character to shine through (which makes critics say that there's no emotion). Goodf*cking bye I literally asked my self for a good 10 minutes how Christina Grimmie wasn't able to belt a proper C5 until I realized you meant Christina Aguilera Christina had a pretty high extension up into the seventh octave though during her peak, which is unusual for a mezzo overall. I feel like she's a bad example because she's one of the most extreme mezzos that currently exist. I mean... she has a whistle register that goes beyond the whistle of most regular sopranos as well (Tori Kelly can only go as far as B6 in her whistle while Christina managed to do C#7s). I'd be surprised if she couldn't hit an E6 tbh. The fact that she can't go up to G6 anymore is kinda tragic. I disagree about Gaga's voice sounding to perfect though. Especially on the title track (which she said was recorded in one take), you can hear some flaws, cracks and flat notes (especially in the first verse). Also I'm still triggered by all of the GGD threads that go "why is there a flat note in perfect illusion?", "Did you notice that flat not in A-YO?", and "Why didn't she shine up her vocals on Joanne?" Well, true, but then again - Christinas voice drastically changed before Bionic. When she started being in her 30's Maybe it's the age? With the perfect sound I mean the timbre of her voice, not the actual notes. It seems so less of character and color. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

It's her not knowing how to mix her belts and forcing her voice up to F#5s on the regular It's almost like she deliberately f*cked up her voice, starting in 2002 until Bionic in 2009. Also I kinda think this is the price of advanced technical knowledge. If I had a dollar for everytime somebody told me that Beyoncé's voice has no character or that her timbre was bland, I'd have a billion dollars now

ThomastheMonster 288
I think I just realized the only thing that wasn't my favorite off the album. I was hoping to hear some more E5's and F5's in her full voice. But her voice was definitely amazing on the album.
