Not a single person I know (I'm 21, work in L.A. in the movie industry) knew nor cared that Gaga had a new album coming out. Not a single person I knew had bought or listened to Perfect Illsuion. I mean, my mom heard it on the radio once but didn't even know it was Gaga! She only found out it was her when she saw one of the Bud Light commercials with PI in it. (The Bud Light commercials also fail to mention an album or release date--more people know about the damn dive bar tour than the album itself.) This era, like it or not, was a massive failure in terms of reaching the GP. If no one my age knows there's an album coming out...Even my one Gaga friend had no idea when the album release was. This era is only known to Monsters and music critics, sadly. Only another big, controversial performance or music video can save it--she needs to grasp the public's attention. Which is perfectly fine to me--but you guys are obsessed with chart success, and many fans seem to be beside themselves at the fact that all the singles are doing poorly.
