Diamond Heart would have been the most successful lead single, its very reminiscent of what you would hear on Born This Way.

Perfect Illusion vocals were so jarring and it had like, no bridge, well 'it was a perfect illusion' with backing vocals of 'where are you cos i cant see, but i feel you watching me, dilated, falling free, in a modern ecstasy' which you could hardly hear don't really qualify as a solid bridge.

Diamond Heart has softer vocals than PI, catchier lyrics, a killer pre-chorus and chorus AND the bridge is a real energetic filled 'fu*king look at what you did to me, but im here and i know what im worth, look at where i've come and you havent ruined me a$$hole'

It would have been a commercial success.

Angel Down has a weeeeeeeird end to it that the GP wouldn't like

Dancing In Circles is up there with Diamond Heart

John Wayne has killer verses but the chorus falls short

Perfect Illusion was still a good decision for a lead. But a good alternate lead would've been MR, JW, or DIC.

Having heard the album now in full it is very clear why PI was and still should have been the lead single. The album as a whole is very uncommercial. Dancing in Circles and AYO have a shot at being singles but nothing else. Dancing in Circles is probably the closest we get to "pop dance " gaga that we know or knew. I honestly can't see anything else catching on as a "smash hit".

Diamond Heart should have been the first single.

And I think A Million Reasons should have been an official single as well.

Could you imagine the utter slayage of hearing the pre-chorus to DH as the lead single? It comes out of no where and just smacks you in the face.

The 1st song on the album, as every lead should be, the opening track. :classy:

All monsters are human, you are a monster.

I think A-Yo would have been a pretty big smash had it come out of nowhere as her first 'comeback' single. I don't hate PI, but compared to everything else, it is one of the most bland songs on the album.
