She's 30, she should be mature enough to ignore the musically unprofessional GP

Lol, how can you as artist ignore something that decides a critical acclaim for your album. And she didn't even go for the number, but for whatever that person was saying about HER and not the album. There's a difference. Sigh

Oh mine... Very insecure and immature to even responds or react. She should just ignore it. There are always plenty of haters etc but you should NOT react. Nobody else does it so she definately is taking critisism (or hate) very very poorly. This kind of behaviour only makes things worse. Once you try to go after a critics, they will come at you full force.

Please, Gaga, learn to Rise above this and ignore critics etc. Focus on your work please.

I don't see what's the problem here tbh. She hasn't "dragged" anyone this time, she responded to a review which she felt was unfair, a review from the NYT, not some indie blog with 3 readers. She's standing by her work and defending her source of inspiration and she has all the rights to do so!

I understand everything you say and she thinks, but that's just sad, we all should be proud of JOANNE as it's her best album to date

She's been quiet before and what did that get her? Nothing. Now that she's speaking up at least she'll get the satisfaction of throwing the bad reviews back in their faces. Nothing will come off it but that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. And honestly, how is it even realistic to believe the critics when if we go by their reviews she hasn't put out a good album since The Fame.

Why unprofessional? The review was very well written.

It's still unprofessional. It's based on his feelings towards Gaga as an entertainer, instead of music that's being reviewed. You can't really tell if he even listened to all of the songs or has an argumented opinion on each of them

Well it is about the music and her place in pop culture, are we reading the same thing?

The "critic" discussed her music, her public persona, and her impact on pop culture which is exactly what a "critic" at the New York Times should do, specifically when reviewing a Lady Gaga album, as she has always been a public figure who is driven in large part by her image. The NYT isn't a music publication, and it's readers aren't interested in a muso writing a detailed dissection of an album track by track, they are there to give a review of an album in the context it's influences and impact on culture.

To respond to a negative review by invoking the name of Trayvon Martin is beyond tacky.

This is Joanne review, not a Lady Gaga review. As far as he could of gone was style of album cover.
