Sal is much more knowledgeable about her than the majority of critics and is great at contextualizing both the artist's personal and musical history along with their musical references. It's the job of a good critic to provide context for a release and not review it inside of a bubble. If their followers hate a certain artist, that could influence the review. And I'm not saying to just pay attention to the critics who are Gaga stans. I'm saying that the reviewers who take a professional approach and have the ability to put all influences aside, are the reviewers to value. Unfortunately, the metacritic score includes some reviewers who are disingenuous, so the entire score is invalid. I live outside the space time continuum.
