The idea with this album is shes destructed her music into its simplest, most pure and raw emotional form. It's as she says, its a pop album at heart with heavy influence of mostly country and rock. It's obviously a country album, but this doesn't mean it's like a Garth Brooks country, a Johnny Cash country, or even a Dixie Chicks country, it's definitely pumped full of pop -- looking at the insanely catchy choruses and hooks. There's obviously other genres too, but at it's heart, it's a country album, which is a subgenre of rock (and btw, rock music used to be considered pop music before synths came around so) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I actually thought the country would be a lot heavier, but besides a couple of songs, it was mostly an instrument here and there what gave it a slight country vibe.
