I had seen the Just Dance video on MTV a few times and thought it was a catchy song and cool video, but didn't look her up just yet.

Then I specifically remember driving home from the movies and hearing Paparazzi on the radio. It was so infectious I had to know who it was by and I went home and downloaded it on Limewire :emma:. ah memories.

I told my mom to buy me a Lady Antebellum CD at the store and she bought me LADY GAGA: THE FAME instead and l hit play and was like this is really good. I didn't follow up much on her but kept some songs on repeat.

Then our bitch came with Bad Romance, heard it on the radio and was like woah.

Here I am today...

EDIT:

I just remember Lady Antebellum is a country act, lmao ironic much?

During lunch break in the middle school.... We were listening to some music on someone's phone and they played just dance, someone asked me do I know who Lady Gaga is. I said yes, thinking they were talking about Lady Sovereign (spoiler).... :poot: That same day i came back home, youtubed Gagas video and became obsessed with her till this day.

I was in the car coming home from the mall with my family, I think november or december, it was holiday season, and at the intersection right next to mcdonalds Just Dance came on. It took me weeks to figure out who sang it. Here I am in 2016.

Papa Paparazzi

I was a church kid so I showed my Mom the "Just Dance" video so she could see how "Satanic" the music industry is. 3 years later I became obsessed with Gaga and now I can't believe I thought she followed Satan! :toofunny:

I'm not if anybody remembers or will know what I'm saying with this - but before iTunes was a standalone software, it was a website. Well, my friends and I would usually go there to get music embeds for our Friendster accounts. :ladyhaha:

But anyway, I remember in late 2007 or early 2008, a banner for Just Dance by Lady GaGa was up on the frontpage. I actually wasn't interested at first, cause I thought Gaga was all-gimmick and no talent. However, the first time I really got into her enigma was when the radio played that song. I was like "Wait this is actually a bop. Lemme go check her stuff out." I believe Poker Face came out shortly after. I don't remember finding much, only some acoustic or piano-driven covers, but whatever I watched, I remember becoming more and more impressed. Paparazzi came out, I went to The Fame Ball, heard The Fame in full. Yet, deep down, I still chose to remain steadfast as a casual fan.

During the post-TF and pre-TFM period, we all know the underwhelming demo of Bad Romance leaked. I remember hearing it and I remember feeling disappointed. I was ready to email Gaga's management for a refund of attention after paying her all of that during the Fame era. BUT WHEN THE FINAL CUT CAME OUT...my level of interest in her literally skyrocketed. Like wow. It swooped me by surprise. It was the first time I was excited over any pop star, if I remember correctly.

I full-on stanned Gaga during Born This Way, but that's a story for another day.

I can't believe how far she has come today though. Amidst all the criticisms she's been getting for seeming fickle-minded with her image and for her music paling in comparison to her early releases, she still remains extremely grounded, intelligent, cultured and compassionate from everything I've seen of her. I realised all this quite recently though. And then I came to the conclusion that I actually never stanned Gaga for her image or just her music, but for everything she is as a human being.

I don't actually hate PI
