My 'Joanne' Review

Being the critical acclaimed User on GagaDaily, that I am, I thought I'd review 'Joanne' the new Album by Singer Stefani Germanotta, a former Member of the Stefani Germanotta Band.

01. Diamond Heart: This is how you open an Album. The Autobiographical Lyrics and the diamond heart reference hence her engagement, make clear that this is going to show us the Story of Gaga, that we wanted to hear. While, some refer to this as a Pop Bop, I'd say this is probably one of the Songs in her catalogue that will stand out as may being generic but so meaningful. With an amazing Vocal Delivery and great lyrics, Gaga shows that her talent never vanished.

02. A-YO: This country influenced- Rock Song is a total standout on Joanne. With talking during the verses and a catchy Chorus that stays in your head, Gaga showed that she's always putting a twist to her music, which makes her stand out. The climax of the Song is most likely the guitar solo followed by a belted chorus.

03. Joanne: The first ballad on the Album is 'Joanne'. This Song could be interpreted as being autobiographical too, since the lyrics 'Girl, where do you think you're going?' could be Gaga questioning where she wants to go with her life, which way of life does she want to go next. The great vocal riff in the Chorus is very ear-pleasing and despite being structured like a Pop Record, the guitar gives the whole Song a country vibe.

04. John Wayne: If you love the Dance Music Gaga does, than here's what you love. The Song could be compared to 'Mary Jane Holland' although, I think it's even better. All in all, the song flows greatly and is very enjoyable to listen to. The buildup Chorus and the amazing 'drop' give the Song an energy that is so raw and strong, while remaining to sound authentic and typical Gaga.

05. Dancin' in Circles: Dancin' In Circles reminds me of Ace Of Base. The midtempo, the reggae influence, while being a dance Song. This may be the strongest Song so far. With a whispering voice leading through the whole Song, belting during the Chorus, Gaga shows different sides of herself. I would say, so far this is the Song on the Record that will be loved by many People. It's very catchy and easy to remember while having a very... naughty meaning.

06. Perfect Illusion: Looking back at the previous Songs, I would say this is the weakest of them all. After listening to Songs like 'Dancin' in Circles' or 'A-YO', this one feels underwhelming. It's not bad, it's just not as a standout as the others. The Key Change is still very exciting and hasn't been done in Pop Music since like almost forever.

07. Million Reasons: Before I heard the rest of the Album, this was the best written Gaga Ballad for me. The meaning, the vocal climax at the end. It's just a lovely Song. It's possibly one of my favorite Gaga Songs, since it's Instrumental, Vocals and meaning flows together so flawless.

08. Sinners Prayer: When I heard it at the Dive Bar Tour on Facebook, I fell in love with the meaning and the lyrics, while not being so impressed with the Instrumental at that time. Listening to the Studio Version, I really loved it. It's a very meaningful, midtempo Song with such an amazing chord progression that really bond with the meaning.

09. Come To Mama: When I heard the Snippets, I was very worried that I'd hate this, but now it's actually one of my guilty pleasures. The whole 60's Musical/Jazz Vibe this Song is giving me and the natural sound is so uplifting after an Album like ARTPOP. This is a Song that may not be that catchy or radio friendly but it's a good Song. It's a really good song and the falsetto in the end is giving me life!

10. Hey Girl (ft. Florence Welch): I never expected this Song to be so driven by a Synth. The 'future bass' Synth thats always present through that midtempo/ 70's-esque Song, is really giving this Song such dynamic. Vocally, I never expected Florence and Gaga to sound SO good together! I feel like, this one will be slept on because it's not as modern or contemporary sounding as 'Dancin' In Circles'.

11. Angel Down: I don't have any words to describe how breathtaking, emotional and questioning this song makes me. The lyrics, the meaning and the haunting beat. This is a Song that will standout on Joanne and it's a great way to close the Album.

Conclusion:

I feel like this is shaping up to be Gagas best Album. The whole authentic sound, the themes she talks about. This is sounding so refreshing after a full EDM Album like ARTPOP because despite the Dance Songs, this Album is sounding cleaner and more pure. The Vocals are barely edited, the Production is the best that Gaga has had since like forever. Amazing Gaga, you outdid yourself!

Everything above 75 for sure, but knowing that some critics hate her, we could end up with 70 :rip:
