I don't think Gaga cares much about charts anymore, and we shouldn't either

I believe that Gaga simply wants to create good quality music that she enjoys listening to. I'm sure she would like her songs to be popular and chart well, but I don't think thats the goal. Gaga wants to be respected as a musician and relate to people on a more human level through her music. She wants to be happy and her purpose in life is not to pump out high charting bops to keep her fans satisfied and the gp talking about her. I just thinks she is over all of that because she realized that keeping up with her former self and other pop stars is incredibly exhausting and stressful. 

I do want her songs to be popular, because more popularity mean more interviews, more elaborate performances, higher budget tours, videos, ect, but not if her artistic integrity gets compromised in the process. I really just want her to deliver good quality music that she believes in. If she does that, I will always support her.

I do agree, however, in her early days she created good quality music that done well on the charts, it was just catered to the mainstream. 

This is not about creating good quality music for the charts, this is primarily about creating music that is in a different direction to what her fans stanned for in the first place. That is why the some fans are complaining.

As long as she's putting music out to the public, then she cares. Every artist cares about how their work does once it's released. Maybe not exactly like before, or maybe it's not her doing the promo job, but she definitely cares, and so does her label. She's still a big name, you know.

Also, I don't understand how her artistic integrity might be compromised if she promotes her work well. If she thinks she's creating good quality music, then she needs to let people know about it.

I think she cares because of the factors I talked about in the 2nd paragraph. She does want her music to reach as many people as possible and she wants to be able to put on high budget shows. I just think popularity is not one of her main goals, like maybe it was in the past. Im saying her artistic integrity may be compromised if she puts out music specifically for the purpose of being popular, not because she is creating music to the best of her ability (like dumbing down the lyrics to make them more relatable or making the song more highly produced or polished because its easier to listen to)

Well of course, if she was charting high there would be no reason to not care that she isn't charting high.

i feel like after Applause she was kind of done caring about the charts and getting a number 1 hit. I think it exhausted her honestly. I'm personally not so bothered about Gaga and the charts, but it would be nice to see her on top again.
