Is she coming for that UNDENIABLE critical acclaim?

(Its already her most personal, raw album)

I'm definitely expecting acclaim for Joanne. "Perfect Illusion" and "Million Reasons" are pretty excellent, and most of the snippets sound even more promising.

No , joanne is just joanne! A personal, true story of gaga's life:noparty: ! We don't need to connect it to madonna or her peers.

I don't think Gaga necessarily aimed for critical acclaim but I do think it's gonna happen

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I'd say it's her Bedtime Stories. It's a softening of her image after rattling too many people with her last album, and has a more personal, intimate sound.

I think Joanne will be considered one of her best albums, but it won't be deemed a progressive sound like Ray of Light. I do think LG6 will be more experimental tho, so the Madonna analogy could continue.

I honestly think Joanne is going to get mixed reactions from professional critics. I think its going to be an amazing album, but the genre change is so drastic and sudden I can imagine a lot of commentators are going to have problem with it.

I think it will however prove to certain publications (NME, Pitchfork, all those "we decide what albums are cool sites") that Gaga is much more than a top 40 pop artist/wannabe madonna

Look at the critical reaction to Kylie's Impossible Princess, it's a drastic genre change for Kylie that got mixed reviews originally but is held in high regard now

Yes I agree it's more of her Bedtime Stories than Ray of Light, if you want to use a Madonna analogy.

By the way Erotica and Bedtime Stories are my two favourite Madonna albums.
