Others sound more pop insta: good_lukeing | I have nothing else to promote

I say it because I gave up It's not country. If anything, it's rockabilly. It's funky, twangy, bluesy, and it rocks.

I've listened to the snippets over and over, and aside from a few songs, majority of them sound like they'd come out of a honky tonk bar in Texas. Idk why some people are telling you otherwise

There's a reason why #GUY is #1 on our chart and #Birthday isn't even on it. @Hits93Toronto @KatysFlop: Birthday is NOT gonna enter the Canadian Hot 100 because, of how little airplay it gets. GUY will most definitely get in. @Hits93Toronto @PromoKaty05: Oh, and Dark Horse is ONLY being played so much because, Katy PAID the stations to play it. It's a marketing scheme. @Hits93Toronto @_iEatHearts: No, I'm just stating facts. I don't think it's professional to be paying radio stations to play your music EVERY 10mins. The album is acoustic and electric guitar driven but nothing on it is honky tonk. "Who are we, if not slaves to this torment?"

Million Reasons. Grigio Girls. There's no denying the strong country sound in these. And adjectives that have been used are 'folky', 'bluesy', 'twang', all words used to describe a country sound? I'd agree that the songs she performed in Nashville have country influence. Sinner's Prayer is the most twangy song. But Joanne and Grigio Girls don't sound country at all. Joanne is just her on acoustic guitar, there isn't any twang to it at all. Girigio Girls is written with Hillary so I'd expect it to be more country, but from the snippet it sounds more "Fight Song" than "I think My Tractor Is Sexy". John Wayne is rock pop. It's even more electronic than acoustic. Million Reasons is a pop song but it has country harmonies in the verses. But we can agree to disagree. Even then, that's only 4/14 songs at the most! Arizona Sky 10,913
They are hardcore Gaga stans like us. I remember they used to play G.U.Y. at least once every hour + allot of ARTPOP tracks back in early 2014

I respect your opinion, and I'll just state 1 more thing, I grew up on country, all of it, and there's as wide a range of 'country' sounds as there are 'pop' or any other genre, and I can say that half of the album falls in that umbrella of 'country' sound, while a few other sounds have less, they are still there. The only songs that lack the country twang are PI, DH, DIC, CTM, and maybe AD. It's all a perspective thing.

They could have fitted Kyle Craft's "Dolls Of Highland" which it's my 3rd favourite released album of the year!

I used Texas as an example, didn't mean for it to come off as the only country music sound the album has, because it has more country sounds than just Texas, like you said with mississippi. We have to face it: the album is very folky. That doesn't mean it's the kinda country artists like Dierks Bentley do but more like the one Bob Dylan, Bett Anderson, Bon Jovi in his most country tracks, even T.Swift during the Speak Now era sing. Joanne, despite the cowboys references (John Wayne, the hi-yas in A-YO and the country twangy vibe of Sinner's Prayer) is not a cowboy album.
