whore 11,447
Why do you think "Til It Happens To You" didn't even get bonus track status on Joanne? It would have fit, it has kind of the same vibe as the other songs. And before you say it was made for a soundtrack and not an album, there are many songs made for soundtracks that make it onto albums (ex. "Die Another Day" by Madonna). I'm a little upset that this song didn't make it onto disk, but I'm more than x-static about Joanne.

Bradley 59,249
Cause she has too many songs to offer, RedOne made eight, Giorgio Moroder, Elton John (Room in My Heart), DJ White Shadow all submitted materials to her. Anything is out is out. The song's nominated for an Oscar and Grammy, its potential is almost fully utilised and she's promoted it before so she's gonna give the opportunity for other tracks. Poissonche 12,365
Gaga only wrote 10% of it. Putting it on the album would not have been very father's daughter, mother's daughter, sister's sister, friend's friend, lover's lover, food's eater of her. FATCAT 60,293
She usually writes all of her music, with help from a few others, For her solo albums. Though Joanne breaks this trend, Gaga only wrote like 1 word in TIHTY. This kitten over here (meow)
Letmelivemylife 8,715
I was hoping it would've made it into the record. TIHTY is another gaga song that makes me ugly cry haha. I was raped at 14 by a 20 year old guy (which is what led to my abortion). He tried to pull the whole "you didn't say no" card but it's like "I was 14 asshole. I couldn't legally give consent". If I had a dollar for every time I heard "that was 14 years ago. You need to get up and move on" I'd be a damn millionaire. That doesn't mean that it gets any easier as time goes on. Til it happens to you, you don't know how I feel. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
Anderson123 38,752
Probably too tragic for Joanne, even as a bonus track. I like the song and I get the message, but it's too depressing to be there. Gaga is not an artist that takes advantage of whatever she can get to complete an album. She actually writes and records hundreds of songs and picks up the best ones to make the final cut.
display name 4,360
I don't think that Gaga wanted to be accused of using "Til It Happens to You" and its message to sell albums. Musically, it might have fit the album, but some people might have seen it as being tacky. The song stands as its own entity. It wasn't meant to promote Gaga as an artist. Gaga meant to use her voice and influence to spread the message of the song, to heal people.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not actually sure gaga even owns the song to put it on her album which would make sense. Another thought would be that she wants it to stand alone as a statement to raise awareness of the topic rather than put it on an album. Or because it's not a new track she chose to use purely fresh and unheard tracks for Joanne. I do love the track though so beautiful! RabbitHeart 795
A part of me thinks it's for a similar reason that Gaga didn't release the song right away on itunes or appear in the music video, since she's been clear she doesn't want her fame or presence to overshadow the message, intended purpose, and movie the song was for.
