You guys truly only must listen to Pop because this board is overall lost when it comes to rap, hip hop, rock, metal, electronic, R&B especially, and country. I grew up listening to country music (thanks to my mom; my dad took care of my love for jazz and classic rock). I make no apologies for still loving that genre when it was great. Country music TODAY, though? I think it's pure garbage. It offends my ears. Darius Rucker is pretty much the only country star I can stomach now. Gaga has drawn inspiration from GOOD country music, if you ask me. Like I said in my other post, whether it's pure country or not, I think Gaga sounds more authentically country than pretty much any new song I hear on the country radio stations now. I would say that Gaga has drawn inspiration from country music in a lot of these new songs. I wouldn't say it's straight-up country music, but it's country-INSPIRED (which, again, is still far more country than modern country music, haha). And I love it.
