Imagine thinking its it's more accurate to say it's POP

Imagine thinking that music always needs to be put into a certain pre-determined box.

Imagine just taking or leaving music depending on whether you enjoy it or not.

Why are you saying that to me? Wasn't I the one that was critical of others who tried to put the music in a pop box? Sheesh. It's like you didn't read the topic or don't realize that what you said doesn't apply to me

I realized that the last part of my post didn't apply to you (and removed it before you quoted me, hoping I was quick enough :laughga:), so apologize for that.

The first part is still relevant though :oprah:

Elements it's not pop country or country... just the elements. You guys truly only must listen to Pop because this board is overall lost when it comes to rap, hip hop, rock, metal, electronic, R&B especially, and country. No disrespect. lol When you go buy the album you will see it under Pop.

You alone have all the knowledge on what constitutes each genre. I forgot, people are very particular about fitting everything inside of a box when it comes to music! YIKES!!! Thank god I hate people

lol at people thinking that if someone calls it "country," that means it's a bad thing. It's not.

I grew up listening to country music (thanks to my mom; my dad took care of my love for jazz and classic rock). I make no apologies for still loving that genre when it was great.  Country music TODAY, though? I think it's pure garbage. It offends my ears. Darius Rucker is pretty much the only country star I can stomach now.

Gaga has drawn inspiration from GOOD country music, if you ask me. Like I said in my other post, whether it's pure country or not, I think Gaga sounds more authentically country than pretty much any new song I hear on the country radio stations now.

I would say that Gaga has drawn inspiration from country music in a lot of these new songs. I wouldn't say it's straight-up country music, but it's country-INSPIRED (which, again, is still far more country than modern country music, haha).  And I love it.  I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

I was literally insulted by like ten people and had two mock topics made from my saying I like gagas new country direction

"erase the gays" = her entire fandom (regardless of sexuality), and that's sad. I guess people want what they don't have.

My straight non-monster friends really liked PI... they don't care for MR which I think will be more reflective of their reaction to the rest of the album.

So gays can't like country influenced music? :ladyhaha:
