NOT MANY ballads take off in radio but when they do they tend to be massive A new style from Gaga + her hype from superbowl gives her an advantage But the innitial take off would be difficult for radio to start playing it. Tbh that 5th btw single would of flopped no matter which song she chose Gaga was massively over-exposed up until that point (she hadnt had a major flop until then, every song was a hit to an extent)... BTW after a huge first 2-3 years saw 3 singles crammed in a short period of time and the promotion on TV was constant I never heard the GP so irritated and annoyed with someone for being everywhere all the time. On top of severe over-exposure she Hit her peak of bad reputation of being too "weird and desperate" I dont think Marry the Night was a bad single. Gaga and team, release the ****in' Million Reasons as the worldwide 2nd single and let it just happen honeys A-YO can still be the second dual single > especially in US.
