Honestly, I've loved the four songs we've heard so far. I cannot wait to hear studio version of SP and A-YO. Can. Not. Wait.

Same, at first the live mono performance disappointed me but after hearing the stereo rehearsals is sounds much better and you can appreciate a lot of instrumental elements, that + PI having a more liveish arrangement, I guess the same is for SP and AYO, theyre both super catchy I think now im so fkn HYPED

Precisely. Any spareness in the instrumentation here will most likely be filled by layers of really cool stuff for the album :excited2:

I agree with you, I liked PI, it's a nice song but it didn't really blow me away. With Kevin Parker involved I was hoping she would go a little more in depth musically and let his genius shine a little more.

With that said, it made sense as a lead single so I didn't worry to much about the album. PI was the sort of adrenaline rush pop lead single that she kinda had to release, it's the sort of song Interscope would have wanted as the lead. I expected the rest of the album would be a little more stripped down and dig a little deeper and that's what I think we got with Sinner's Prayer. Million Reasons is also a really cool, chill song that feels like it belongs on a real singer/songwriter type album.

Perfect Illusion seemed like it was kind of designed to be a high energy lead single, her other stuff allows her more room to breathe. I would have loved to see her work more with Kevin Parker, but I'm super hyped for Joanne I think it will become my favourite Gaga album.

What kind of reverse warholian expedition.:diane:

People who loved Pare now disappointed and people whole hated Pi are now excited:madge:

To be fair, the three songs she debuted last night are stylistically pretty different from Perfect Illusion (A-Yo coming the closest). I can see why there is a divide. I like both and am surprised to say I probably prefer the more country driven tracks.

A-YO is like MANiCURE's hotter and cuter brother. LOVE IT.

When Sinner's Prayer's beat started after her mini-acapella at the beginning, I died a litlle inside. :excited2:

I am doing my best not to repeat the songs live. I want to get used to the studio versions more, but A-Yo and Sinner's Prayer are killing me. Especially, A-Yo. I cannot wait for the studio version of that!

Didn't you say that you won't listen to any of the songs until the album comes out? You gave up yasss :ladyhaha:

Exactly the same! I listened to PI like 10 times only, without so much enthusiasm. But now I can't count how many times I listened to MR.

No. I said I will not listen to the snippet of Million Reasons, and I will listen to it in full instead. :ladyhaha: I am doing my best not to get used to "A-Yo" and "Sinner's Prayer", because the album is a few weeks away! :diane: We should throw off a listening party in the UAE with @Saeed :gaycat:

Blame the label for choosing PI as the lead :reductive:

We always come after gags for that kind of stuff when we should be going after Interscope.
