:awkney: how about y'all who lick Gagas ass grow up and understand the fact that there are Monsters who simply dont like the direction of this album.

Ive been a fan of Gaga for 7 years now, and according to you I should leave tje fanbase simply because I dont like one album out of her entire discography?

Stop being so f*cking entitled and move on with your life. I can't believe there are so many people who apparently got no life and have to open a thread about this every hour and trash everyone who doesn't like ONE ALBUM out of 5. Seriously, reevaluate your life

how am I trashing people in my thread, if I say something extremely offensive welcome to point me out but all I say is if it's too frustrated to like her, it's ok to leave for a while. But you like to TRASH the album, please just leave. That's all I say

Oh my God.

Well I think it's time for some Monsters to start sucking it up and getting used to the fact this is a public forum, where people will voice their opinions no matter how many bash threads ya'll make about them.

Yes it sucks that not all of us like the song, but in the same way you all love saying how much you love the song, there are going to be people who don't, and you can't blame them for making threads about their dislike for a song while you make your thread about your liking for it.

It's two sides of the same coin, you can't just have threads about how amazing the song is, that lead to this cult site just becoming more so, but you also can't have just hate threads or this place will be ATRL.

This elitist way of thinking that some people need to leave the fanbase purely because they have different tastes is tired.

As if you were all the authority on what a "True Stan" is. Lol.

And if I get dragged for saying this, so be it, but to go and make a thread about your opinion and then denounce someone else for theirs when they make a thread disagreeing with you is wrong no matter how you try to spin it.

That being said I hope ya'll go on to make tons of threads about your love for the song, but stop making threads like these about the people who don't share your opinion.

One of the biggest differences in these types of threads, is that most of the points made about disliking the album, fall into the category of: "I didn't expect this from the artist I have known for a while" or "She is a pop star, and this isn't pop" or "I hate country, I waited so long for this". Which, while all are fine reasons to dislike something, they are also obvious and don't need too much repeating.

Some of us enjoy this music because we know the roots of it, both from the artist it comes from and the genre and era of music it was inspired by. It connects with us in a real soulful way, and we enjoy it because it is personal to us. We aren't just stans, we are fans of this music and this artist. We love it because it touches us and not because we "love anything she ever does", which isn't the case.

An example being: "Just Dance". It took me years to love this song. It wasn't actually until much later that I finally got a hold of a slightly better quality version of the Marc Jacobs acoustic cut, that I began to enjoy it for what it was. And Brown Eyes I still don't like, I don't think I ever really will like that song. But I have yet to come on GGD and make a thread specifically about it, or try to burst bubbles over it at every turn, and I wouldn't have done that at the time if it were possible either, because it wasn't worth my time. Sharing a connection, and deep love of her music is a little more worth my time.

It has already been said by others here, but the point of this is, we understand you don't like it, and we understand this is a public forum, but having an opinion on something doesn't mean you always have to voice it, particularly if that opinion in no way adds anything to the conversation the way many of the more positive opinions of this thread have. The soul of Gaga is still in this music, her artistic soul never really leaves in fact, but if that doesn't speak to you anymore then I truly do feel sorry, because it spoke to me in a new way I never thought it could, just like it has with every album. Just give the album a chance, because never have I been able to tell from 2-3 songs, what her whole album will sound like. Maybe you will find something you like, and something that makes you want to stick around and add something to this fanbase besides negativity over something out of your control.

too bad ATRL registeration is closed... I think many would belong there :reductive:

But yeah, it's ok to dislike something, but when there are million threads and same comments shading and trashing Gaga's work it's really frustrating. And you don't even have to be here 24/7 to see it...

Country is one of my least favorite music genres but I've liked everything so far. Cannot wait the album!

That's just it. What I don't like even more is people shutting down people like the OP and telling him to let them air their views. That's all well and good but constant negativity is exhausting and unnecessary. For the love of Gaga stop defending haters.

Stuff like "this is not natural" or "this is not her " is never a critical opinion, it's just a opinion that you think it's right and tell it as a fact. I know gaga said things that are contradictory but that has nothing to do with some people acting like they know her so well and ****

plus, if I dislike an opposing opinion I would say "I disagree" and the give my reason

im not being disrespectful for giving frustrated members advice. Everyone is welcome to stay in the forum but like I said, if your complain or opinion is butthurt. I'm not having it.

You have a problem with the way people are presenting their opinions, not the opinions themselves. That's fair. But people are not butthurt or wrong for stating opinions that differ from yours. You don't know Gaga either, so how do you know this IS natural? Because of what she said? She hasn't had the same opinion of her old albums after a few months either.

The opposition of an opinion needing "I disagree" at the front to be valid is juvenile imo. You're not rude by not saying that. Of course they/you disagree!

You don't need to have anything, lmao. The only thing you have is a misplaced attitude about other people

All I will say is if fans want to stay in their nostalgia box, that's okay. If they're ready to climb out and explore, they're more than welcome to join my line dance at the JOANNE Ball 69118687gw1eljt407bnyg20by06o4qt.gif

PS: it's not a good look to bash on someone because of their music preference. If someone either likes a thing or doesn't, let them be.

Say it louder for the back.

I swear these kids don't understand that good music doesn't have to make you bop.

PREFERENCE. DIFFERENT TASTE. Who the hell is the dictator of what "good music" is? No one. It's personal preferences and personal taste. Who put you or anyone in charge of what good music is?

There's really no need to praise it over and over again. I understand negativity can suck, but this place can't be an echo chamber either way. Suppressing negative or differing opinions that are posted more than once isn't good discussion. If someone is being totally rude or isn't explaining themselves well deliberately to start flame wars, then that's a cause for concern. But simply stating reasonable reasons as to why you don't like a song more than once is not bad.

But I'm not complaining about the reasonable reasons, I'm complaining about the obnoxious one tho:sweat:

I do not agree with negativity but one cannot really blame some fans to voice their opinion. Gaga was THE pop artist of our time, she created amazing pop music for which she became iconic for. She's religion to some fans. I'm actually a rocker, I never listened to pop but Gaga caught my attention. I became so devoted to her that I even traveled to see her live. Personally,  I do not mind this new direction, the new songs are very emotional to her but unfortunately they are not driving me crazy like her past material used too.

I've already started packing.

You know I really loved Perfect Illusion, I still do. But ever since Gaga said PI is not indicative of to what Joanne will sound, and that it's country-oriented, I got scared. I'm not a country fan, I love and adore synthpop europop dancepop electronic music whatever.

Obviously it's still too early to tell, but watching last night's performance, I, and I reluctantly say this, think that three fourths of what I've heard is just not good. I want to like it but this sound is not doing it for me. raw

I never said that good music is ANYTHING BUT bops. I'm saying that there's good music out there that doesn't have to make you dance, hair flip, etc. Which is what most everyone who doesn't like MR is saying.

I like a good bop. I constantly jam to EMOTION and other sugary pop albums... But that's not the only type of music that's out there and it doesn't have to be.

Currently listening to Joanne

Wait I thought the songs only had a country vibe because the songs were performed in Nashville  Million Reasons has a slight country twang but nothing major.

Do you feel him sir?

I LOVE THIS NEW ERA! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE I BECAME A FAN:)

Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, and now Taylor Swift.

Do you people see how many singers (not gonna say songwriters cuz i mean lets face it...) can give you what you want? They have the songs that you expect from GAGA. Ass-shakin, party bop, sexified songs. GO OVER THERE!

I always say this: GAGA is neither all of them... she's simply unexpected. if you haven't catch on, baby, it's time for some help.

GAGA don't need you boo. She has a million reasons to not give a crap about you. Don't stan this new direction? Bye, leave. Adios, chica.

WE ARE THE FANS WHO WILL STAY THROUGH THE END BECAUSE WE FOUND A CONNECTION TO AN ARTIST WITH THE SAME HEART, COMPASSION, ARTISTRY, AND TALENT THAT WE LOOK TO SPEND OUR MONEY ON. IF YOU'RE NOT ON BOARD, GET A REFUND. LEAVE. NOW.

YOU BETTER FURKIN SLÉ

I agree with that. The ones who just whines without stating reasonable reasons why they don't like a song/new direction are the ones I mean should leave since their whining doesn't contribute to anything good.

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

Hey not that fast yet! We still have like 7 songs to go. Diamond heart sounds like a bop tbh:firega:

What about the obnoxious ones saying that those who don't like this music "don't understand it" or "don't understand where the music came from and are just too juvenile to comprehend it"? That's just a way of feeling superior for liking the sudden change. It's like having the rug pulled out from everyone, and then each of the people who are still left standing talks about how great their dexterity is.

Pull that rug out one more time in a different direction and you'll see how many of these "change lovers" fall. I really feel that some people only support the idea of a change in musical direction if they like it. If this was acapella screamo mixed with yodeling, I highly doubt most of you would be into it.
