So the Queen has just added another meaning to Perfect Illusion, at least interpreted by Harper's Bazaar.

"I would just say that my music on my album as well as all my albums is inspired by my personal life and this one more than others," the singer told E! News. "I have said it before—I love Taylor so much and he's my best friend."

Even her performance in the music video was influenced in some way by their relationship. She explained:

"This video is a performance of a song that I wrote of that moment about how I feel, but how I'm sure he's felt sometimes, how you have felt sometimes, how other people feel in relationships, how I see my friends struggle and become just full of rage and anger as they try to figure out how to date during a time when everybody's sort of creating these perfect illusions of themselves on the Internet and nobody really knows what's real and what isn't. It's about all of that."

Queen of writing a hit song about her life, social media, her relationship with Taylor, illusions we create about ourselves, phone culture, internet culture, life as a radio host, calling her JOANNE, the illusion of fame, rage culture, her being her mother's daughter and father's grand sister- in- law. Honestly, when will the other girls?

It's pretty obvious it was written about Taylor...

she shouldn't even deny that it's about him...
like, if it wasn't written about the relationship, it mimics and parallels real life and she still agreed to release it as the lead single amidst the gossip their breakup created...

what I'm trying to say is that even if it WASN'T written about him she made it to be about him in the end

just like when she said applause wasn't egotistical, it may not have been the original purpose of the song but it's not like the lyrics didn't speak for themselves

Indeed. Though i still think it's important to note how she's wording it (and has been through all the interviews).

She knows about the gossip level of the topic. But she dosen't seem to want hurting Taylor either, so she's only vaguely including him. :golfclap:
