Is the Dive Bar an excuse for low tour sales?

Ok, so I know Gaga can really do well selling tickets but ARTPOP tour sales compared to the Fame Monster Ball tour Sales (via soundscan) are kind of staggering, I mean a 40% drop in sales comparing the two Tours. Is gaga using the dive bar tour to hopefully regain interest in the GP or do you think she is scared she won't be able to pull anywhere the numbers she used to. I mean, she used to be able to fill arenas and now she is playing dive bars?

I don't think so.

It's promo.  There will be a Joanne Ball.

Completely different kind of tours, this is only basic promo to follow her low profile formula before blasting the full album and to creat hype for the SB, the main tour will come after the SB.

Theres no point in launching the main tour now if the album is not even out yet

Also, the MB tour did so great because of the amount of shows she did and the hype surrounding her at the time, and it got the final push thanks to Born This Way, the last leg hthppened because of it, the Artrave was shorter, less cities, and based on an album that didnt do great

Ok thank you for clearing this up. Still fear her next tour wont do well based on PI numbers

It's just promotion, not the actual tour. and the attRAVE had a very decent revenue. It was a short tour, and it's called the Monster Ball Tour

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

Madonna has sold like 5 copies of her last 3 albums but her tours remain as powerful as ever.

The Joanne tour will work with the impact of the SB, even if the album does bad, the tour will work

I think this time they are doing things in a way that, if the single/album/tour/whatever flops they have an actual excuse (the lack of promo and disclosure to the GP). But the dive bar doesn't seem the case, it's just something that fits the whole purpose of the album and Gaga's new brand. I think it's cute.

I would buy that it has to do with low cost promo and the rumor that Interscope does not want to pay for promotion of this album. But it has nothing to do with concert sales.

Gaga would still be able to fill arenas in big cities this era (London, NYC, LA, Chicago, San Jose, Mexico City, Rio, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Milano, Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok, Toronto, Vancouver... she's fine TBH) without the Super Bowl. With the Super Bowl she'll sell out a big US arena tour with ease, grossing $100M+ from the US alone if she and her team wanted to.

She is only doing a 3 DATE TOUR, for only PI and MILLION REASONS, this is not an ACTUAL tour for Joanne this is just a lil' promo that she wants to do bc she enjoys when she is performing in more intimate places...goodbye.

No, it's just promotion for Joanne and Bud Light.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
