When describing being in the studio she mentioned how mark and the others didnt treat her differently because she was a woman. That is a GOOD thing, but I feel that her "Im a strong woman and I dont give a .... " attitude has been lost a little bit. Back in previous eras ( no shade towards this era) she wouldnt have even thought that (or expressed that thought) out of strength in her femininity (maybe shes just being more open) but something about how she assumed that because she is a woman that she would be treated differently in the studio just rubbed me the wrong way. I'm confused? That's the way it is in the music industry A LOT of the time. Can you blame Gaga for having that mindset? I don't think she lost the "idgaf" attitude. I think if Mark, Bloodpop, or Kevin PArker had not accepted her for being a female musician, she probably would have left their asses and respectfully confronted them before finding another producer to work with. You think just because she's a strong woman who doesn't give a ****, she's gunna just go work with anyone who doesn't respect her? Yeah right. At least Gaga has common sense. I doubt she meant anything by it but as a grown woman and a social activist she really should refrain from saying those things, as should all of us. Not related to Gaga, bottom shaming is another thing that is rampant in this community that needs to stop. It's not being offended or shook, it's demanding the respect we deserve. The longer these things stick around the longer it's gonna take for everyone to be on an even playing field. this deserves to be restated. ♥ Kindness Police. KyliesChild 16,907
Manly as in some characteristics that was usually denoted as male-like. So she could either mean that both males were fearless and not shy about showing their true emotions. A manly cry does not mean anything in the sense of how a male and female behaves socially at all. I don't understand why this is sexist in any way.

TropicOfCANCER 6,292
i agree with you. Gaga is seen as being an advocate for change in our generation, but these minor things, as easy as it is to brush off, are actually significant in reinforcing gender stereotypes, specifically about men being strong and women being inferior. Yes, it's obviously not intentional, but even if something isn't meant with malice, doesn't mean it isn't harmful.
KyliesChild 16,907
Before any of you start quoting me, just realize that a female can have the same characteristics that a male has; such as being courageous.

Chris Evans 8,917
this is completely ridiculous the whole "having some balls" thing equating to bravery is literally just an expression and "manly tears/cries" just means they weren't straight up bawling- they were trying to compose themselves not because they're men but because bawling in front of someone you don't really know is bound to make them uncomfortable which is why Mark also tried not staring I know you realize she means no harm by it as she's one of the nicest people but being triggered by this enough to make a thread is not healthy- these are norms in society that are not going to leave just because you believe men and women are equal in every sense of the word men tend to be stronger than women that's just a fact and that's okay- none of us are born equal to exactly who is this being insensitive to and are actually harmed by it?
