Swan Heart 7,382
I don't have any high expectations, sales wise. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
RainOnMeeeeee 67
I'm actually super excited about how she described it. Perfect Illusion sounded so fresh to me, unlike anything on the radio. And that's a good thing. I'm personally sick of all these songs that sound the same, w/ no chorus, trendy lyrics, vulgarity, bass drops... So I'm hype about Joanne. I don't care about how popular it gets as long as the music is good, and I have a feeling it will be.

Rockets 1,807
I'm happy it doesn't follow any trends cause honestly I'm really not into anything that's trending right now... but that's just my personal taste I guess. I just hope the album slays me tbh The only girl I've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes
hausoffame 388
So far, she has yet to disappoint me. I'm very excited for Joanne.

Gaga just confirmed to me that what I was saying is true in a recent interview: "We didn't follow any radio trends when making this record. Because that is not what we are into. We are not into just sliding in there. We want to make something new and fresh and real." In other words, and by Gaga's own admission, Joanne will simply not be trendy or radio friendly. So many people will have difficulty getting into it because is just not what people are listening today. Now, could Joanne be successful? Yes it can, it is always possible that people will end up loving Gaga's new sound. But in general, Joanne is shaping to be something risky and it is probably wise to not expect big success from the album. I don't understand this thing with radio friendly, risky music, new sound, etc This are excuses for a song that didn't sell well and you act like you created in that way intentionally to not sell well .FACT you can't control the overall success of your song if the song is a smash it can be rock ,punk, opera ,cabaret music, etc . GP is not an entity that can be define in terms of likeness for a material. Gaga tried the impress them with something else , raw vocals , unproduced song , rock vibe but unfortunately this song(I like the MV actually) as much as I try to like it it's not my jam and some folks agrees with me, the sales speak for themselves
Iwontell 7,312
I don't think anybody with a good grasp on reality does at this point... The problem is: does it bother them? It doesn't bother me...I just want the music to be good...PI has grown a LOT on me (I hated it at first), but I'm still not 100% convinced by it, tbqh... PS: I like that didn't follow the current trends, tbh...one trend she tried before (ARTPOP, EDM) and it didn't exactly work for her and the other (Rap/R&B based pop) would be a bad fit...let's just say that... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
Mikey Monster 1,561
I don't care about sales or charts or how successful it will be to the GP. IM SO happy for Gaga and proud. She seems SO happy and it's gonna show through the music. I absolutely cannot wait for this album I hope she releases a few more singles and music videos just because I want to see how the music meshes with the visuals I bet it will be so damn beautiful!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Mikey McCampbell

She wants it to be successful. But it is a fact that if you follow the formula of what is successful at the moment, there are higher chances that the radio will support it and in turn higher chances that the GP will like it or at least get to hear it. Any song could in theory become successful if the GP likes it, but in general, releasing music outside of what is trendy will decrease the chances of a song being successful.
