If she promotes Joanne the way she promotes Perfect Illusion, which would mean no promo at all (except for talking about home cooking), then 2017 will be another year without anyone bothering with Gaga and her music.

The sad thing is, I don't even care anymore.

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

Although Lady Gaga’s popularity has declined in a fiscal sense, it’s hard to put a price on maturity and respect, and Joanne is likely to push the singer into a new era of just that.

:diane::applause:

This has renewed my hope

When even the article is positive but her detractors still come up with

"paid article"

"not gonna happen"

"OMG flop!!1!"

to be honest, it looks like a paid article... I really hope that 2017 is her best year ever, but she will definitely need to make some changes in order to achieve that

To be honest most of the Super Bowl articles seem paid

How can an article be paid for?  Maybe I'm dumb but can you tell me the difference between what seems paid for and what seems to be the authors genuine views? :laughga:

What you have to understand is that all media outlets are owned by the same four or five companies if you keep tracing back. So artists, business people, and especially politicians can use different sites and articles to sway public opinion or give the impression that more people are interested in that person than actually would be true...

for example Trump or Clinton could have an article in the Wallstreet Journal that overwhelmingly makes the other candidate look bad or vice versa

This 2016, she became the first person to perform at the Super Bowl, the Grammys, and the Oscars all in the same year.

Okay, which one of you wrote this? No one other than us knows about this.

I'm just not excited anymore. I love Perfect Illusion, but there's disappointment in me that I can't ignore any longer.

Jesus if she ever goes #1 again single-wise, the internet will implode. People are acting as if she's hated by the masses.

If you're upset because the song you love isn't storming the charts, you shouldn't be. Gaga is experimenting with a different campaign approach this time. Perfect Illusion was released to act as a palette cleanser of sorts before the album drops. Instead of promoting it aggressively and shoving the song down every airwave possible she's allowing it to climb and drop based purely on audience reception. She's avoiding overexposure because, honestly, that's what put her career in cardiac arrest three years ago and she wants to be more careful. I would expect fans to be more in sync with this mindset because we were all here posting articles about her career troubles a couple of years back. By laying low and dropping a single that doesn't pander to radio or specific audiences, she's skirting around any expectations and changing the narrative. Now she's just a musician who's releasing music, as opposed to a pop star who peaked early and is desperately trying to make a comeback. It's precisely why you don't see any articles shading this song's chart performance. It's not that they don't care, it's that they don't think she cares. And that's good because it lets people talk about the music more honestly.

People are going to be all ears when Gaga drops a single. She's a big enough artist to have that privilege. If a song doesn't resonate then so be it, but remember that people will be all ears for the next single. It's no longer a do-or-die situation with her, she's fine.

Sorry for the essay but just wanted to remind people that the dissonance/disappointment people feel is more of a misunderstanding of her strategy than anything else. This is the first single of hers that hasn't come with a massive promo push and that's a new feeling for us, but it's 100% intentional.

Success. Money. Charts. The Fame.
Long ago, Gaga held all four of these.
But everything changed when ARTPOP attacked.
Only Tony Bennett, master of Jazz, could save her.
But when the gays needed him most, he vanished.
What feels like 100 years has passed and Gaga announced a new album.
While she still has a lot to prove,
I believe Joanne can save her career.

Yaaaas! Thank u for saying this cuz I agree 💯 she knows what happened with ARTPOP and they didn't waste 3 years by not thinking about a promo campaign. Gaga and her team know what they are doing it's a different approach. Just think 3 more weeks till Joanne is released!!! ❤️:excited2:
